Taiping lake is indeed a very beautiful lake with really big rain trees.

The Pokok Assam Market is a pretty good place to sample local food. I found the dried Wantan mee here pretty unique, I like it. Space could be quite limited though, and you aren't encouraged to order food from a different stall and sit in front of another 😓

Interesting cafe in Taiping with old setup and furniture. Coffee and dessert not bad.

I believed the FKT is one of the cheapest meal here and pretty decent, less than RM 4 I think. Wanted to try Chee Cheong Fun but not open.

The best thing here is the Fried Nian Gao, as it comes with Yam as well. The fried banana fritters is a bit too sweet and soft.

One of the famous cendol place in Taiping. The cendol is "fat", nice and fresh, though the syrup is too sweet. Sadly kacang and pulut no longer available at 4pm.
