Overall, we really enjoyed the dishes here! The Sarawak Laksa is definitely one of the best Halal ones in the Klang Valley, and we enjoyed the Mee Kolok/Sapi too!
Anyway, compared with Aunty Lan at Shah Alam, this broth was lighter. I think aroma- and flavour-wise Shah Alam was better. But then to each their own preference. The prawns here were fresher. The prawny taste and smell were there. Shah Alam prawns were flatter in taste. Ambiance was better and there are the aircon and cafe environment.
Another thing I want to talk about is their Teh C Peng Special. It was super duper legit! At first sip, I felt as though I was sitting in any of the many food courts and Kopitiams in Kuching, drinking on a refreshing glass of Sarawak's iconic three layer ice tea. While a lot of places often serve up a gula-melaka version of three layer ice tea, SALTed got the caramalised taste and texture on point with their brown sugar.
The Cafe offers 9 items in the Western and Fusion food menu (rm$6 - rm$34), 20+ Coffee and Non-Coffee beverages (rm$12 - rm$15), and 5 Cakes (rm$8 - rm$14).
The all-vegetarian concoction was kind of a little expensive but interesting and satisfying! Next work trip here will try the Pasta, Burger or "Big Bro" breakfast.
Interesting to find that the "Bean Brothers" is a "Korean Cafe branding" with its own in-house coffee roasting facility in 韩国仁川 Incheon, Korea.

Unlike most nasi kukus with ayam goreng berempah stalls in Klang Valley that only operate during certain hours, Ilham Nasi Kukus‘ is available for most of the day. That makes Ilham the go-to place for this specialty food without having to guess whether they are open.
Overall, Mean Mince is a great place for American food, and the service is fast and friendly. Will be making a return visit for the burgers!
Overall, we had a fantastic time at Mean Mince, and we left with happy stomachs and hearts. Mean Mince is one place you’d come to for quality food with extremely reasonable prices. The items on their menu are made even better now as they also started serving up almost everything on their menu with a chicken option alongside their original beef option – great news for everyone who isn’t fond of beef. With ample parking around the area, friendly staff, and a cosy 90’s vibe interior, you’ll find yourself adding Mean Mince to your list of all-time favourites in no time.

I understood why Ivy didn’t want to share her fish with me when I started peeling the smooth, firm flesh off the main bone, soaked in the delicious sweet and sour tempoyak curry, with faint hints of fermented durian lifted by the fragrance of turmeric leaves (daun kunyit). There was turmeric in the curry as well. The Patin, which is from Pahang, tasted so fresh, without any mud taste which is frequently associated with farm-reared fish.
Memang nampak fresh.
♥Verdict: Definitely a new culinary experience to me since this was my first time trying Macanese food. I can’t say I was bowled over by the food but for those who never try Macanese food, this place worth a try for some excitement to your taste bud.
Here, you would not go wrong with Minchi (RM22.00), their signature dish and also my favorite of the meal. The huge bowl of rice came with a mixture of savory minced pork (loads of it too), diced fried potatoes, onions, fried egg, rice, and pork lard. This was comfort food in all it's glory
Portugese Chicken (Po Kok Khai), 25 ringgit. This was delicious. The gravy was a perfect blend of turmeric and coconut milk – sounds similar to an Indian dish, ey? I guess these similarities are shared across the region, throughout Asia. Cool, isnt? There were eggs, chicken, tomatoes, olives, carrots, shredded coconut. Man, this was yummy. The gravy was thicks and tasty. The chicken was tender, moist and flavorsome. Eating the chicken + gravy + rice, ooo man, it was just the perfect dish for a mid day lunch.
We’ve tried a lot of fish head noodles in the Klang Valley – and we can say that Soon Soon serves one of the better ones, with a very distinctive orange-hue to make it memorable. The fish cakes here are excellent too! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Overall, we thought both CKT plates were underwhelming. While it had enough wok hei, we found it a bit lacking in taste (no umami) and the cockles were a bit too small as well for a satisfying finish.
The Kota Damansara Forest Reserve is a boomerang-shaped green space with 14km of interconnecting trails. Most are clustered in the south, but the Harmoni trail is a secluded trail in the northern part of the reserve and the only one that starts in section 9.
Lauk options are super basic but absolutely mind-blowing: piping hot spring chicken that seem to disappear within minutes each time they’re brought to the serving tray and gulai kawah (sometimes in mutton ribs form, other times in daging tetel form). Sometimes there’s also a gigantic pot of soup brewing right beside the gigantic pot of bubbling gulai kawah.
The satays, yummmmm. It was meaty, juicy, coated with a thin layer of something sweet and when you dunk it into that peanut sauce …. ooooo man, delicious! This is why I keep coming back for more. That is all there is to say about it. If I am not mistaken, each stick cost 1 Ringgit and this time we went for 15 sticks between us, 5 each.
Reasons to visit Rare The Food Company in Perdana Damansara: premium ingredients sourced worldwide but with a dominant influence from Japan and Spain; a range of high-end cooking tools guaranteed to make the home chef drool; must try the Pulpo, Sweet Corn, Rack of Lamb and Mushroom Pate; check out their ever-changing specials based on seasonal ingredients.
While not Halal-certified, the kitchen sources all its produce from Halal-approved suppliers and thus, is Muslim-friendly. Prices are actually quite reasonable and it is a good place for casual family gatherings as well as a lunch spot for office workers nearby.

Chargrill broiler chicken is one of the best dish. Love the marination and it is a bit of Indonesian chinese style. It is a must to go along with the sambal @ RM 29.80.
The Mala Shandong Squid will be the reason for our returning visit, as we are also intrigued by the ramen/udon.
