Sarawak Delicacy Laksa & Kolo Mee serves up authentic Sarawakian cuisine with a new Friday Special in a coffee shop in Bedok. Read more.
My travel down to the Eastern Part of Singapore is worthwhile. I don't mind returning back to the same place for a bowl of Kolo Mee again should I have any cravings for it.

The authenticity of traditional Teochew Cuisine in the heartlands is something I'm looking forward to. There are still quite a number of dishes that I would like to try like their Oysters Omelette as well as their Steamed Pomfret. To be honest, I will like to be back there again soon.
Traditional Teochew cuisine done with finesse, served at reasonable prices with friendly service and in a pleasant environment.
On the whole, the meal at Chin Lee Restaurant was enjoyable. We would agree that it is one of the best Teochew restaurant in the Eastern part of Singapore.
There is no lack of good hawker stalls in Blk 216 such as Chris Kway Chap and Sin Ho, and Prawn & Mee is worth trying if you are craving for prawn noodles.
While I wouldn’t say it’s the best prawn noodles I’ve had, I would say its worth a try.
The noodles at Prawn & Mee might come across as ordinary and basic, but give this store a chance and you’ll be in for a huge surprise.
The Halal Corner launches two new spicy fusion pasta dishes that will surely entice thrill- and heat-seekers alike!
One thing I have to say is, the portions are pretty big so it’s pretty good value for money.
The Halal Corner has one goal in mind - to bring you quality halal Western fusion dishes in Singapore that everyone can enjoy! ? Formerly known as Asyraf's Halal Corner, their creative dishes combine local and Western favourites to create something eye-catching and unique, and with dishes costing no higher than $7 you can get a cafe-quality meal at hawker centre prices!
Chris Kway Chap, one of the popular Stalls to fix your craving.
I am with Chris Kway Chap's many fans - this kway chap is nice.
There are quite a few well-rated Kway Chap stalls around the island, and in Bedok, Chris is definitely the one I would recommend to try.
The pork chop was tender, savoury (even salty) and fragrant with five spices and pepper. Tastier than perhaps the DTF pork chop, although thinner. The fried rice was not as evenly fried as DTF, but had more wok hei and more egg fragrance.
I would likely be back to try the other dishes only if the queue is shorter.
Definitely coming back to Hao Lai Ke for more!
Pasar 216 Bedok Central hawker centre is off the tourist belt in a mature public housing area but it has many excellent food stalls - more than many famous, higher media profile hawker centres.
Han Kee Fish Soup is not the first stall to offer such a combination, and I’m more than glad that there is such a combination because white rice with braised sauce and sides will never go wrong.
Jing Long Seafood Restaurant 412 Bedok North Avenue 2 #01-152 https://www.jinglongseafood.com.sg/ Fried Fish Skin With Salte...
Hay, have you been to Hay, Gelato yet? A whole bunch of ice-cream cafes opened up in the last few months including Hay, Gelato which is located in Bedok. For too long, I’ve felt that there are not …
Hay Gelato is a nice addition to the Bedok neighbourhood and it definitely complements Percolate cafe as well.
Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice. Though reputable among the locals and especially my foreign friends who raved about it, I find that with so many reputable chicken rice stalls in Singapore, we are really spoilt for choices and therefore, my vote for chicken rice still goes somewhere else.
Food at Nangfa Thai Kitchen is predominantly Thai cuisine, featuring some of the most beloved Thai dishes. Expect bold flavours and consistently well executed dishes.
Ambience at Nangfa Thai Kitchen is casual and relaxed.
You should definitely come here if you’re a huge honey fan.
If you were a fan of D’zerts Cafe’s sweet creations, you’ll be happy to know that D’zerts still supplies bakes and desserts to The Forage Cafe.
The food is really good here, capturing the essence of Sichuan food, attested by the China customers surrounding us.
Hon Ni Kitchen also offers a variety of side dishes such as stir fried long bean, fried bean curd, eggs and more. All of these are equally delicious and go wonderfully with the nasi lemak.
Hon Ni Kitchen is not a big fame, high media profile stall but their nasi lemak ticks all the right boxes for an excellent rendition of the dish. Prices are very wallet friendly too.
Though there were some misses, they still serve up a pretty decent bowl of noodles at relatively affordable prices.
If you are in Bedok and craving a comforting tasty bowl of noodles, it will be satiated at Yong Hwa Delights.
The plate of Fried Black Carrot Cake is pretty decent with sweet-tasting black sauce and natural egg sweetness. The carrot cake is run of the mill type but good enough for a simple breakfast if you want to fill a portion of your stomach.
Very cheap carrot cake with prices starting at $2. Both the white and the black carrot cake were very crispy. The white had a good rice fragrance, while the black was really sweet and charred (at areas to a crisp), and tasted like the old school carrot cake I had when I was young, at the old Commonwealth Crescent Market.
The recommended Braised Babi Chin is actually one of my favourite dishes ordered.
Humble, simple dish yet so satisfying.
You can bet your bottom dollar I’m gonna try my luck queuing for their mee hoon kway again. This time I’ll be the one getting the last bowl!
Overall, I was really impressed by the quality of the food considering the price we paid.
All in all, The Pasta Boutique carries an appealing range of pastas and mains. Longer waiting times are to be expected here as there is only one chef cooking.
The stall's drawback could be its location. It may be convenient for those staying in the neighborhood, but can be rather far to travel for us living in other parts of the island.
I will return to try the other flavours soon, when I have saved up enough money.
