The Lamb Shoulder comes out to be delicious. No gammy taste at all, and the meat remains moist and juicy as it is. Sides with fresh mint sauce, buttery mash and coleslaw.

Mash & Dog Simple fare but makes a hearty one. Love the springy porky sausage that went through a decent heaty grill to be paired with the yummy mashed potatoes. Oh yeah, that humble mashed somehow managed to steak my attention cheekily with its nicely constructed rustic recipe. Unexpected right? Yeah, me too, hehe.

This dish, I liked lots. I have a thing for udon, not the soupy kind but the dry ones and I usually like a poach egg in with it because that would make the noodles all wet and slimy. So, is it any wonder why I gave the Sesame Udon a go? It ticked all the boxes for me and oooo, there were bonito/fish flakes as well, these flakes usually have an appealingly peculiar taste which mixed with the egg and noodles, made for a yummy dish.

With the movie tickets of Guang, we were given 2 handmade coffee! Yay! And free cheese sticks as well! The cheese sticks were good. The signature 猪油渣饭 was good, I actually prefer the egg rice with added 猪油渣。oh yeah and the rum & raisin cake - we thought the rum was in the ice cream, it's actually a rum cake which tastes great!

Top Catch Fisheries is essentially a fishmonger, albeit in a clean, air-conditioned environment. When we arrived at the shop, we saw that they had no more salmon sashimi in the display counter, but the guy at the counter kindly offered to slice a new tray for us. While he sliced the fish, we looked around the shop. They have chilled salmon fillets, as well as lots of frozen seafood items on sale such as scallops, mussels, clam, cod and more. The prices seem pretty reasonable for the frozen items.

Since my friend asked me to try their dry Seafood Noodle, taste much better because of the separation of soup. My usual will be Koey Teow and noodle mix. They have onsen egg in it too that is cook to perfection that one poke you will enjoy runny yolk. Generous ingredients in it too. With mince meat, and other pig spare park to my liking. As for Seafood they do have mini squid, and prawns in it.

After a short wait, our six bowls of pork noodle goodness arrived piping hot. I thought for RM5.50 ($1.90) per bowl, the serving portion was not bad - almost as big a serving as what we would normally get served in Sydney. It came with plenty of greens and unlike other pork noodle stalls, this also contained some seafood like prawn and squid. Perhaps these additional ingredients were what made their broth stand out from other stalls.

Prawn Noodle King - Taman OUG 蝦面王 Restaurant

My Personal Opinion The two more successful things here were probably the broth and the sambal. The prawn mee, though decent by many's standards (judging by the mostly good reviews on Google and their Facebook page), just didn't endear itself to me on a personal level. I think the failure of the ingredients (of prawns, fried shallots, hard-boiled egg and pork lard crisps) and toppings (of siew yuk and mantis prawn) spoiled my overall experience of this prawn mee and ultimately made it one that I don't think I'd be revisiting. In the end, I'm afraid this prawn mee will not make it to my list of favourite prawn mee to have. I have a lot more other better (traditional) prawn mee options at my disposal...and one that comes with more prawns and cheaper prices too. I can have two big bowls, with big prawns, for the price of one here...and with change to spare! ;P

The Original, 6.90 ringgit. I decided on The Original because I’ve already had a chicken dish, I did not want to add on more meat. It was goood ! Spicy, packed with flavors, soooo good! I was literally sweating halfway through because it was spicy and it does not hit you right on. What it does is that the more spoonful of the soup/gravy you take in, the more spicier it starts getting. It hits you late and by then , your forehead is all sweaty, lol. I enjoyed my experience though. Not many eateries serve prawn mee that still gives me a kick and this one right here does. Yumm! The Original comes with a generous amount of mee hoon and yellow mee + bean sprouts + egg + ham + plenty of spicy, flavorful soup. I loved every bit of it. Certainly worth another try.

The Forking Cork, a wine & whisky restaurant bar that is named cheekily for laughs, however with serious vision to provide a comfort zone for their patrons. A cosy space for entrepreneurs, business people to get connected under their roof over comfort food, wine & other booze. Almond Pistachio Ice Cream. – almond sponge, crunchy base, meringue, chantilily @ RM 18 . Love the top layer of the crust as it is caramelize, very fragrant and those nuts are fried to perfection. Not too sweet but well balance. Follow by the ice cream where you get a hint of almond first then end with mild pistachio after taste. The base is perfect as it is crispy to my liking. At least 8 elements of flavour in this. Interesting as it is also a alochol ice cream cake. (it has mild alcohol taste in this which I cant taste it out).

The Portuguese Curry Chicken arrived first at our table. It was kindda like unwrapping a present. As you can see from the first image, the chicken thigh is a rather big piece and it covered/shielded whatever that was underneath. The whole process of removing the chicken and discovering what was underneath was exciting. Basically, what the dish consisted of was a large piece of chicken thigh + corn + broccoli + mashed potato + rice + curry/gravy. The gravy was very nice, thick and buttery with plenty of flavor. It worked well with the rest of the items on the plate. The corn and broccoli were steamed – it was soft, yet crunchy. The rice is soft and rather moist, which was worked wonders here. I usually am not a fan of soft, gooey rice, unless it is sushi but in this situation, with the gravy, steamed vegetables and the chicken – it worked. Certainly a favorite.

MUN KEE STEAM FISH HEAD @ HAPPY GARDEN Posted on October 5, 2016 TWEET SHARE 6 +1 I was trying to hunt a stall of Wan Tan Mee around the area which was recommended by my friend. Then could not locate the stall and we randomly pick Mun Kee Steam Fish Head since it was the nearest to where I park my car. There were not much people during weekday lunch, but certainly impress with their huge steam machine. We were recommended by the auntie that their best seller are this few dishes. this is new to me as for the first time I am having Clay Pot KangKung @ RM 14. Turns out to be good as it is very aromatic with their little specials sauce which is salty and also nice aroma from mini anchovies. Sizzling at the base at the pot do make the vegetable filled with pot flavour. Their homemade special tofu is also a good one where the sauce is little starchy and fragrant. Great to pair with rice. @ RM 16 Black Bean Steamed Fish Head @ RM 28 Fish head is pretty huge for the three of us, however I got one incinerator with me that can finish half of the fish herself. Fish head is fresh, pungent with black bean flavour and soy base do pairs well. Ginger taste is not overpowering where you can taste all 3 flavour with freshness of fish. Food Rating 7.5/10, a nice fish head place~ -Stamped-

Tamagoyaki Sando, 18 ringgit The bread came with a nice dose of wasabi and some curried mayo? The thick patty in the middle is apparently Japanese omelette. I wouldn’t have known if I did not google the word ‘Tomagoyaki.’ It had a thin crispy outer layer and on the inside, sponge-y and soft. It felt like a nugget, if that makes sense. The texture was good, the flavors were rather unusual yet tasty. Overall, this was an awesome sandwich.

Take this Tamagoyaki Sando RM18 as instance, you get a freshly prepared, thick tamagoyaki laced with hints of sweetness, jacketed with lightly crisp golden crumbs, sandwiched within two Sunday Fat White. Juicy and toasty, plus mildly spicy and tangy hint of wasabi comes through in between bites to further flavour up this Japanese-inspired sandwich.

The Curry Kapitan with Kerabu Blue Rice was da’ bomb. Finger licking good was what it was. There were about 8 items on the plate – Kerabu rice, pickled vegetables, peanut, sambal/acar, prawn paste, potato, chicken kapitan and egg. Mixing all the ingredients together was a joy, really. It tasted awesome with plenty of flavor. The Chicken Kapitan gravy was thick and delicious. The chicken literally falls off the bone with no effort at all. The egg was fluffy and the yolk resembled that of a poached egg, it simply oozed out and provided that much needed gooeyness to the dish as a whole, like a glue that held all the items together. The Sambal and the Prawn Paste provided an ‘extra kick’ to the Kapitan gravy. The peanuts and pickled vegetables gave plenty of crunch. Overall, a truly satisfy dish that provided us with plenty of flavor and texture. I loved it. Burp!

This dish right here was truly the bomb. You literally can taste the rendang flavor every mouthful you’d have. I initially thought that with the rendang, the spaghetti would most probably be somewhat wet? but that was not the case here, the spaghetti here was more of the dryer version. So, imagine dry spaghetti with plenty of rendang paste and tender chicken bits – da bomb! It was really delicious. Totally worth giving it a try.
