There were enough shops to keep you occupied for 2 hours at least if you’re the shopper type. I did my rounds for kitchenware (Kitchen Shop Outlet), mid-range designer wear (Guess, Esprit), sports (Adidas, Under Amour), bedding (Akemi) and then went hunting for food.

This place will certainly become my next shopping ground when I am heading back to Penang as heading here is so convinient where it is directly located at the first exit on the left if you are coming from Penang island Second Bridge. Sad part is there are lack of many premium brands or maybe there will be in the coming months as current occupancy is like 50%-60% only.

The largest Premium Outlet Mall- Design Village Penang has opened its doors today (23 November 2016) at Bandar Cassia, Batu Kawan, Penang. Batu Kawan is one of the heaviest development zones by the Penang State Government at present, the island expects to receive great spotlight from the media over its vast development in the next few years and Design Village Penang is one of the huge projects. The mall that spans across 24 acre-land houses as much as 97 international brands; the location is strategic... only 5 minutes drive away from the Penang second link bridge (Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge). At present, only 50% of the shops are opened and the mall is expecting to run at 70% capacity in by end of December 2016.

Though the Green Curry Thai Laksa was well-presented but the flavors did not quite impress us. The creamy, herbaceous factor was missing, the sauce was rather diluted and watery. We expected bolder flavors. Tom Yum was equally disappointing, it was not spicy nor sour at all... with subdued flavors. Also, we did not like the texture of the Noodles... something like the local Koay Teow. The meal ender was not any better either

Though Bangers & Mash is a simple dish but it's not a common dish in Penang cafes. The Morning After's did management to meet our expectations. They were generous with the Sausages, served over a bed of Mashed and Brown sauce. The Sausages however, were unlikely made fresh but the bouncy texture was lovely, it worked perfectly well with the soft-creamy Mashed Potato while the Brown sauce offered a sleek salinity to the dish

There are quite many franchise restaurants here. But if you are looking for a more affordable meal for lunch or dinner, you may want to try Make Make, the Penang Lang Cafe. Make Make serves the good ol’ Penang food such as the notable Penang curry mee, prawn mee, asam laksa and etc.

Hokkien Mee (Penang Prawn Mee, RM10.90) is my yardstick for all restaurants that serve Penang hawker food. I have to say it’s pretty darn good for a pork free version. The generous amount of toppings you get is reflected in the price. You hardly see any restaurant that willingly gives large prawns (fresh ones too!) on top of the sliced prawns in a bowl of prawn mee nowadays. Like any authentic Hokkien Mee in Penang, the chili paste is a must, as it adds a good depth of flavor to the soup.
