Really springy noodles in a very fragrant sauce of shallot oil, rendered pork lard, soy sauce, pepper, white vinegar and MSG, topped with spring onions and fried shallots, and accompanied by sweet savoury minced pork, and actually fairly nice tender sweet char siew. 口齿留香. The soup was light and sweet of cabbage and radish.
All in all, I’d say that it’s worth dropping by Meow Mee. Give both their red and white kolo mee a shot! I know I definitely would come by again for those!
They even have Tom Yum Mama Lobster ($49.90). But remember to call and order in advance!
Not many places in Singapore serve traditional Teochew duck porridge. Hong Qin is a good place to enjoy this dish.
I like the nostalgic taste of food especially the braised duck.
