Eam Huat Charcoal Steamboat is known for its clear flavoured soup, made by boiling chicken bones, pork bones and fish bones. The steamboat is served piping hot in a traditional metal pot with a chimney holding the charcoal.

For a basic pot of soup, it comes with seaweed, deep fried bean curb, fish meat…and others. This Teo Chew steamboat is definitely different from the famous mainland as its not milky soup base, and the soup is very sweet by itself with fish meat and yam, we cannot imagine the amount of ingredients being used and hours to cook in it. All the seafood ingredient that being serve are fresh and good as the owner believe in serving fresh ingredient to his customer.

Peri-Peri Chicken (RM 18.80) immediately caught our attention. It is not that type of fiery and hot peri-peri sauce, but more a mild spicy sauce that drenched over a nicely roasted chicken with tender meat. The sauce blends well with the chicken and elevated its taste. Served with a baked corn and some fries, this set provides a balance of nutritional needs in terms of carbohydrate, protein and fat.

Spaghetti Aglio Olio – RM15.80 Vege, RM20.80 Seafood. Spaghetti sauteed with olive oil, chili flakes, olives, broccoli, squids and lots of garlic. There is a choice of either vegetarian or seafood for different tastebad. To me the simplest dish is the most challenging dish. This is because everyone knows how to cook it and the taste can easily be compared. Therefore, to determine a good cook, I usually will order Aglio Olio. At Papilicious Olivia’s Pasta & Pizza, the aglio olio tasted exciting and spicy. It had the right balance of saltiness, spiciness and garlic taste. I would definitely go back for this again.

The trademark of Kham Kee has always been their special handmade beef balls. They always have that bouncy al dente bite that you can hardly find elsewhere and they were bigger in size than others. Their chili sauce was also superb as it was a handed down recipe for decades. It was sassy recipe with hints of red chilies, bird eyes chilies and ginger with some pinches of salt. It was fiery spicy but I love it! The dish would come with a generous garnishing of chopped Chinese celery and some oil drained fried garlic. It was a simple yet fulfilling hot bowl of noodles on a rainy day~

Their sliced beef (the meat) was not too tender in my opinion and they could need some improvements on that, but their beef meat ball is a must-try in my opinion, I just love how bouncy and springy the texture is and it works well with their home made chili sauce. I have always asked to mix Koay Teow (rice cake strips) and Yellow Noodles to get the better texture. Highly recommended.

"The Original" Aligot (Rm 13.90 + Rm 2/ extra vegetables) The Aligot is not served as it is... after it is ready and topped with various of toppings (for the case of "The Original", fried Sausages, sliced Cucumbers, diced Carrots, Corn Kernels, blanched Broccoli and caramelized Onions are served)... additional sauce will then be added, with a choice between "Tom Yum" and "Honey Mustard". The texture was amazing and the creamy-cheesy flavor was certainly addictive. Good on its own but even better with the addition of Honey Mustard... which introduced a sleek sweetness to the Potato. The greens offered a crunchy bite to the otherwise monotonous Potato-concoction. Pretty small portion and might not be too filling for the big eaters; great snack option nevertheless.
