I hadn’t been to a Caribbean restaurant for more than two years, and we definitely want to come back here. It is expensive, but the atmosphere and the food were really worth it. Highly recommended.

The sandwiches were delicious. You can choose your spice level – mild, normal or spicy. I opted for spicy. Part of it was the heat and the other part was pure spices, a burst of flavors. The sandwich filling was generous. The grilled pork was tender and juicy. Biting into it was divine. There was spinach, purple cabbage, purple radish, onions …. it was yummy!

Designed for parties of two or four (but they are happy to adapt for odd numbers), Christmas at Joloko 2019 will be offered on the 24th and 25th of December and includes a selection of appetizers, mains, sides, and desserts. It even comes with a special cocktail. At RM165++ per person, this smattering of well-dressed sharing plates brings family and friends together, just like the holiday itself.

My favorite dish here at Joloko was the Caribbean goat curry (RM35), which is available from Fridays to Sundays only. Insanely good, this Haitian-based dish is made using tomatoes, garlic, potato, chillies and onions and cooked until the meat is tender and the curry is thick. The sauce is so flavorful, with heat from the chillies which got our tastebuds tingling with joy.

Reasons to visit Joloko KL: High standards and artistry in both cocktails and food (including pork). Hip setting. Don’t miss the Walnut Hummus with Pomegranate Molasses as your starter. Everyone loved the Guava Glazed Prawn Tostadas and there is a delicious selection of meat-free options too. You must save space for a Tequila Bite. Excellent line-up of natural wines and Mexcal – do a tasting if you’re game.
