The alley runs longitudinally, split into two lanes, containing no less than 10 stalls selling similar thing – Jeon (can be done as Jijim or Jijimgae). Some stalls were so popular that there were at least 10 people in line, braving the smell of grease to get a Korean pancake deep fried in oil. Each cost about 4,000 – 5,000 Won.

  • 2016-02-07 00:00:00+00:00
Yeah, so we made it to Bukchon View #5 before giving up and headed back to my favourite place – Samcheongdong straightaway instead for some cafe hopping!

Its unique atmosphere and space continues to be loved by many young people.

Although 대학로 is more of a theater district, there are a good number of international restaurants, cafes, cinemas, a jazz bar, and some small stores to shop at. Since it’s a college area, everything is really cheap compared to some other places in the city. Whether you’re looking to try some traditional Korean liquor, known as 막걸리, and 파전 (Korean pancake) with your friends, or purchasing some skin care products, you will definitely get your money’s worth at 대학로!
  • 2013-04-16 00:00:00+00:00

Attraction

54, Naksan-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul

Naksan Park gets its name from its camel hump-like appearance. In Korean ‘nakta’ means camel and ‘san’ means mountain. So people refer to the park as Nakta Park or Naksan Park. The mountain is a solid granite bedrock. The Joseon royal family enjoyed the natural beauty of the granite mountain, but during the Japanese Colonial Period, a hasty manner of urban planning resulted in the demolition of most parts of the mountain. In an effort to save the remaining green belts, Naksan was designated as a park on June 10, 2002. Located in the center of the Seoul, this historical and beautiful park allows its visitors to view the magnificence of the entire city.

Attraction

An artistic neighbourhood covered in wall art graffiti and made up of some really interesting architecture, even if shopping isn’t your thing you should still come here to just take in the surroundings. As mentioned it can attract a large crowd of tourists at times so we’d suggest coming here earlier in the day if you’d prefer to browse in relative peace before the rush begins.

Attraction

Ikseon-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Hidden from outside view by the palisade of concrete high-rises that surround it, Ikseon-dong is Seoul’s least-known but, perhaps unsurprisingly, best-preserved neighborhood of Korean-style homes, or hanok.

  • 2016-06-16 00:00:00+00:00
One of these cafes is Sikmul (식물). The building is a bit different than the Hanok you find in this area. It stands out with its metallic glass door and the interior is best described as industrial hipster. There is regular seating, a couch, and elevated wooden floor where you can sit on while drinking your coffee.
  • 2016-05-09 00:00:00+00:00

I don't really fancy historical building, but the night visit event is quite interesting. Night event start at 7pm for a limited period during September and October. There is a 500 tickets limit per day for foreigner, but we have no problem securing a ticket on weekday night. Some people wore Hanbok (traditional korean costume) and take lots of photo at the palace. There is also a 15 minutes light show at the pavilion, which is quite colourful. The night view is an interesting experience, seeing people wore Hanbok make the place more lively (we realize later you can rent Hanbok at Insadong shop for 15000won).
