Sekarang dah ada D'Smart Trail Gunung Angsi. Memudahkan pendaki untuk mendaki dan turun tanpa risau sesat. Ikut je tanda yang diletakkan pada laluan tu. Jangan pandai-pandai ikut jalan lain ye. Ikut jalan lain, kalau sesat sila salahkan diri sendiri.

When SL told me we were going to Kuala Pilah for Malay style char koay teow, I must admit I was a skeptic. After all, shouldn’t one be heading to Penang for that? But once I tasted Adwa‘s char kuey teow, I was not only truly impressed, I can also say with confidence that you should put this in your list of things to eat in Kuala Pilah

We are taking the Bukit Putus route up Gunung Angsi, which is the shorter and more direct route, starting at an altitude of 285m. The trail from the large parking area is impossible to miss – it’s not the most picturesque starting point, with what seems to be a very new trail cut into the side of the hill. (Older blog posts show a more solid set of concrete steps marking the start of the walk, rather than the makeshift steps shown below.)

Gunung Angsi is my favourite mountain to trek previously as it is not too difficult; this time, for trail running.

Gunung Angsi ni antara gunung favorite dikalangan pendaki-pendaki tempatan. Selalu juga ia dijadikan lokasi untuk latihan ke gunung-gunung lain yang lebih mencabar. Power! Power!

Most of what I have read about Gunung Angsi seems to imply that the climb isn’t that interesting, and that Gunung Angsi lacks views. While there is some truth to this, Angsi is still a place I wanted to visit at least once. There are (apparently) 4 trails which lead up to the summit – via Bukit Putus, Ulu Bendul, a third trail I don’t know much about, and an apparently disused 4th trail. To see as much of Angsi as I could in half a day, we decided to take the Ulu Bendul route up, and return down via the Bukit Putus trail, and walk back along the road to our cars.
