You don’t usually see me suggest hot pot whenever I am dining out as I can easily do it at home. However, I wouldn’t resist if friends offer...
Quite flavourful and authentic-tasting, with tender yet qq, and fresh beef slices and beef balls. Not bad.
The sliced beef shank was tender, unlike the cold ones that one normally gets for appetizers in Chinese restaurants.
Having Mei Heong Yuen Dessert @ Liang Seah Street, it is certainly welcome.
Overall, I would come back for their original pork sheng jian if I’m around the area.
The soup was spicy with the same numbing quality you would typically associate with mala and was tasty.
We were pretty satisfied with the items that we had tried at Mr. Sheng Jian, from the Sheng Jian Baos to the noodle dishes; flavourful with a respectable standard at an affordable price.
Our experience seems to be pleasant at Cao Vietnamese Cuisine overall; while it was our first time having most of the Vietnamese dishes that we have ordered here, the meal was an eye-opener for us and broadened our perspective on Vietnamese cuisine as a whole.
One of the highly recommend hot dishes was their braised pork belly! It's a must try dishes!
The ingredients were of good quality, including the condiment selection. I just need to remember not to get the tomato broth next time; it's sweet.
