Plank, Baker & Cook at Dempsey certainly looks like a nice place to have a casual meal. It was a hot day when we were there. The air-conditioning struggled to to handle the heat trapped within the glass house. I think the best places are the tables at the shady spots outside. Watching the dog and kids frolic on the grass in between bites of the Parma ham pizza is the way to go.
Chang Korean BBQ is a large restaurant in Block 71, Loewen Road. It is simply furnished. Although the space is large with a high ceiling, the effect of having many BBQ stoves in an enclosed space left a distinct smoky smell in the air.
This new venue is a cafe, deli and pizzeria, all in one.
My favourite of the night was the Cheese Plank Pizza ($14.50), topped with blue cheese, fig jam, caramelised garlic, crème fraiche, balsamic glaze, caramelised walnuts, maple syrup, thyme and lemon zest. Conceptualised as a cheese platter, the savoury-sweet combination blew me away.
Museum of Ice Cream Singapore spread over some old barracks up Dempsey. Painted bright pink so you really cannot miss its full of playgrounds
Such a lovely place really, nutritious food made with love, with positive vibes and happy people.
A place that is bound to attract brunch lovers and health-conscious alike, Carrotsticks & Cravings is a spot that is worth keeping a lookout for — in fact, they already seemed like a hidden gem for the few expats who were having their leisurely catch-up session while we visited.
Chang Korean has been on my to-eat list for quite some time. The Dempsey Hills long-timer is well regarded by the Korean expat community for serving up reasonably decent Korean fare.
