Overall, the high cost of the meal (RM268 for 2.5 diners) wasn’t matched by the quality of food, so I don’t think I am likely to return in the near future. On the other hand, if I could get away with just having three courses of dessert, I might change my mind.

There are 3 types of Omakase set which starts from RM120++ which is known as Koi, comes with 10 types of unique nigiri sushi. Next is Azabu Course @RM220++, 2 kinds of sashimi, chawanmushi, 7 pieces of nigiri sushi, makimono, palate freshener and a dessert. If you would like something premium, go for Chef's Specialty Course @RM420++. What will be given to you will be a complete surprise. I had Koi course on that day. I’ve been to my fair share of shabu-shabu places in Malaysia – and I have to say that Mo-Mo Paradise’s beef slices are among the most best ones I’ve ever seen. The thickness was just right (some places serve you paper thin sheets which are practically falling apart lol) and there was a nice amount of lean and fat in each slice.

The scallops arrived plump and piping hot, the tender white flesh encased in a thin, crisp breaded shell. The ‘skin’ peeled off rather easily so the scallop kept popping out – would have been great if I could have gotten the batter and scallop together in one bite for a nice blend of texture. They were served with a side of Japanese mayo and the subtle sweetness went great with rice. Could have easily polished off half a dozen but sadly you only get three lol.

Classic tonkatsu pork loin is the most perfect. Slight fatty yet you get the nice fragrant from pork oil and the the batter that they use makes it crips inside out, yet the meat is soft and juicy. Dip with their tonkatsu sauce is a perfect marriage.

Overall, it is a great place for a tonkatsu but with a price of almost RM50 for a meal is definitely not a meal that you can afford daily. I believe not many patrons able to refill as many rice as they can. Asians are not big eaters anyway.

If you're craving juicy yet good quality steaks, then this no-frills place for meat, cooked the Japanese way with simply just salt and black pepper, is definitely worth a visit. Although I won't go as far as to say that the steaks here are cheap since some of the wagyu beef can go as high as RM200, you can still find some very reasonably-priced and affordable Australian beef cuts for around RM25. So, go with what you think is within your budget. Besides a meat fest, there are plenty more food options here (like sushi, sashimi, tempura and bento) though I'll be more tempted by the lust of gorgeous meat more than anything else if I'm here again!

The rm$19.90 bowl of "奶油咖哩裡烏冬麵 Creamy Curry Udon" comes in WHITE color cream layered onto of a potato based curry with udon; as usual with every bite mellowing into the mouth. I think its quite vegetarian as likely there isn't any meat in it, did not mind to have tried it despite its high price.

This is a cool, Instagrammable place to hang out with friends that’s very easy on the wallet. It’s very spacious and the cafe doesn’t insist on shoving as many tables as they can to maximize capacity. Especially if you sit outside, you’ll have a big table far away from the next guest. The downside of this is that you might not get a table, especially a coveted one with a view. A couple of times, we saw other people awkwardly standing around because there were no more tables left for them to sit at.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Food quality and taste is quite good and food preparation are done by two Japanese chefs. I like all the meal served. Salad were fresh with sesame dressing. I enjoy more of their grilled chicken dish compared to their grilled pork dish. The grilled chicken has more seasoning, softer, crispy skin and tender meat. The grilled avocado with melted cheese is awesome. Japanese omelette with chunks of pork belly is tasty as well. As for okonomiyaki is a bit lacking of ingredients as it only contains cabbage and batter. Dessert comes with 3 choices of vanilla, green tea and yuzu. The best choice would be yuzu as the taste is refreshing)

My Personal Opinion The teppanyaki didn't impress as much as I thought it would. Not having a say in the meat doneness, I can just as easily go to Tamaruya Meat Master (also at Lot 10) and have my fill of beef done exactly to my liking....with bigger portions and cheaper prices too (and what I pay goes directly into the amount of meat and not get 'wasted' on side dishes that I could do without (since I ended up liking only two out of the four courses). As for the okonomiyaki, it too didn't turn out to be the tasty treat that I was expecting. Hmmm, I'm not sure if I'll be back. I mean I know I'll be back to J's Gate Dining, I'm just not sure if I'll return to this particular restaurant. If I do return (and that's a big maybe), it'll be for the teppanyaki, not the okonomiyaki! ;)

One can enjoy their signature salt- grilled salmon served on the rice together with the dashi broth and deep fried tofu. The dish can be eaten in 4 ways where you can eat them as it is, add in the condiments to the 2nd portion, pour the Ochazuke Dashi onto the 3rd portion, or try the 4th portion in your own way.

The Mix Toji had tamago-toji simmered in a soy mirin sauce with onions topped with an ebi fry, half a chicken katsu and simmered beef gyudon style. The eggs were fluffy and the prawn and chicken had soaked up the sweet salty sauce. The beef below was quite tender. It was like having all my favorite Japanese dishes in one big dish, what a treat!

My Personal Opinion Even at non-promotional prices, I don't think you can find anything cheaper than RM18.99 (single) or RM35.99 (double) for a bowl of unagi rice that's of this quality and taste. So, there's no better time than now to head to J's Gate Dining to take advantage of this (and other) extremely fantastic offer(s) before the promotion ends on 11 May 2018...it's a deal you won't want to miss :) With 16 (and later 18) types of specialised Japanese food on offer here, there's bound to be one that will suit each and every palate. Since we were sharing, we had the Double Unagi Omelette Bowl @ RM38.99 with additional fried chicken (2pcs @ RM4.99) and miso soup and green tea @ RM3.99. The Unagi was undeniably delicious, it was firm and tender while the sauce did not taste too sweet. Every mouthful eaten together with the omelette and rice was truly enjoyable. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the fried chicken, as it was not crispy at all and the bottom was quite soggy and oily too.

I wanted to try both the natural and premium soup, so I ordered a shio natural (RM14.90) and a shio premium (RM19.90). For us, the premium one is the way to go as the rich broth is the type of ramen broth we are accustomed to. Tori Soboro (RM24). Minced chicken with egg on rice. Again, really overpriced, but not bad to eat. Just that, instead of finishing a bowl of it to yourself, I would really advise you to share it with others because the more you eat, the greasier it gets. Miso soup was really good though!
