時至今日,安樂園還保留了原有的裝潢,門口的玻璃櫃、硬座卡位、天花吊扇、階磚地板、木吊櫃等等,一枱一櫈都充滿了歲月的痕跡。店內的咖啡很有名,味道與附近邢泰記的咖啡不相伯仲,此外,泰國風格的美式早餐也很受歡迎,還有多士、麵包、水煮蛋等等的餐點。由於近年很多遊客慕名前來,店內已有英文餐牌提供。

SO is On Lok Yun as much of a “MUST-VISIT” place like what everyone says? Well… If you’re intending to tour around the Chinatown area, then why not? Otherwise, if this is out of the way and you’ve difficulties in fitting this in your itinerary, I’d say skip it. The food here isn’t out of this world, just plain classic old breakfast you could really just whip up on your own, really. It’s probably just the ambience, the effort to get here, and the taste of the food that brings back the kind of homely happiness and nostalgia that keeps people coming back whenever there are in Bangkok! Hey, not forgetting they have accidentally photogenic tables too!

Mont Nom Sod經常大排長龍,店內賣的麵包,醬料,鮮奶,都是多種口味。最方便的便是點塗上醬料的多士,有牛油砂糖、朱古力、練奶,忌廉栗米,咖央,士多啤梨果醬,香橙果醬,花生醬,香芋醬等等,也可點一盤白麵包再配自己喜愛的醬料。

My friend Gavin Chan (who eats mainly atas food) said, “You MUST try the Drunken Noodles”, and he was not drunk when he told me that. The 400 Baht plate consists of flat rice noodles fried in hot & spicy sauce, and jumbo prawns marinated in wine. Frying it over coal fire meant that the noodles had more wok hei.

Jay Fai是位於舊城區的小炒店,非常出名,雖然店鋪小而且裝修簡陋,但仍然客似雲來。出名的原因是用料新鮮,全部都是真材實料,其次就是價錢貴,很難想像到一間小店吃晚餐的價錢要過千Baht,有如在貴價餐廳吃晚餐,但當你吃過便會覺得物有所值,當然前題是要捨得花錢吃,店內最出名的蟹肉奄列要800Baht,醉貓炒河要400Baht。

店鋪位於角落,還拉起了帳篷,不細心留意也不會察覺到原來是一家雪糕店。門口的櫥櫃放滿了雪糕的配料,店內粉藍色的牆壁上部份油漆已剝落,掛滿了舊照片及傳媒報導,部份已發黃,可見店鋪歷史悠久,也多了一份懷舊味道。雪糕有多種口味,除了招牌的椰子,還有芒果也是很受歡迎,每款只售25Baht,芒果則要40Baht,可隨意加上不同的配料。如喜歡看舊事物、舊情懷,便要來試試傳統的泰國雪糕,附近一帶還有很多傳統老店及舊建築。

店的門口貼滿了Menu,很易認,除了炒米粉,也有炒河粉,炒飯,各式小菜等等,比較特別的還有奄列蛋冬陰湯。如行過舊城區,食完Mont Nom Sod也可到這兒吃粉米。建議晚上才來,可坐店外比較舒服。店內設有英文Menu,點餐方便。

店內主要賣碟頭飯,如咖哩牛肉飯、咖哩豬肉飯、叉燒飯、燒肉飯、炆牛肉飯,炆牛筋飯等等,另外也有雲吞麵、粿汁、豬雜湯等等,每配約50Baht。這裡的咖喱飯是中式咖哩,不是泰式的,炆牛肉及炆牛筋也是中式的煮法。比較特別是這裡可以吃到潮州薄餅Por Pia Sod (ปอเปี๊ยะสด),即叫即整,用薄餅皮包着芽菜、滷豆腐、青瓜及臘腸,淋上酸酸甜甜的羅望子醬,然後在上面加上蟹肉及蛋絲,很值得一試,潮州薄餅在星馬一帶通常叫作Popiah/潤餅。
