The red, hot chilli sambal was potently spicy and left a burning sensation on my tongue, even though it dissipated rather quickly. If you like, you can even get a tub of sambal at just S$4.00! p.s. I don't know how big is one tub.
A good number of stalls were open. Those that were closed in the day were mainly the seafood stalls.

The carrot cake was good as always – sweet, caramelised, and soft with all the wok hei and egg mixed in. The satay was quite average, skinny and dry. The zi char was very average – maybe I need to get the seafood from here. The Michelin recommended stalls fared poorly.

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that cheng tng is my favourite dessert and I am ultra particular about this local hawker delicacy.
From the look of it, this was the kind of fried oyster omelette that i like; eggs that were fried to a crisp, with just a bit of starch. Fried oyster omelette is a common enough dish sold in many hawker centres but the truth is; many stall-owners simply used too much starch to reduce their operational costs.
