Tourists visiting or staying in Cenang Beach will have an ample selection of duty-free stores. All of them that I talk about below are on Jalan Pantai Cenang and are close to each other, making it easy to compare prices. Remember that the typical alcohol allowance is 1 litre per person when returning to other cities in Malaysia.
Guests will never go hungry at Temple Tree Langkawi, thanks to the recently launched Paloh Restaurant and Bar. Aptly named after Perak’s state capital fondly known as “Pa-Lo” in Cantonese, the all-day dining restaurant is located inside the lovingly restored 120-year-old Ipoh House.
Never in my wildest dream did I think I’d be staying in Temple Tree Langkawi. After seeing all the alluring social media posts of the resort, I was ecstatic to be invited for a staycation.
Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa is now my standard for a “proper” resort and I’ll push to stay here again if we ever return to Langkawi and Cenang Beach. The property is sprawling and pleasant to wander around in. Our room at Pelangi Resort was spacious and well-kept. All of the conveniences, from the toiletries to the bottled water, are provided and housekeeping does not skimp when replenishing them.
The drinks are expensive by Langkawi standards so you have to be in a splurging mood. The food was lacklustre, but you don’t come to Kalut Cafe N Bar for the food. This is a place to drink, be lazy on a beanbag, catch a sunset and watch the fire show, which has almost become a Langkawi attraction in its own right. It was such a relaxing vibe being there at Kalut Cafe N Bar (once the music was tolerable and we had a drink in us) that we almost went again the next night to watch the fire show again.
Honestly, I found Putumayo hard to score. Despite the quality of the (non-vegetarian) food, and the pleasant surroundings and staff, the price makes it hard to recommend with a clear conscience! I’d say go for the fixed price meals, and if you were to perhaps it would be a higher mark.
It’s my first attempt staying in a tube, I personally love this nomad unique experience. A comfortable air-conditioned concrete tube with king size bed, free WiFi, and there are plug points to charge my gadgets.
Reasons to stay at Temple Tree Langkawi: a step back in time and a stay that gives guests a unique feel for local heritage and architecture; highly recommended for nature lovers.
Reasons to visit Nam Restaurant: All the basics are done well with a wide food menu and classic cocktails; unique sunsets over the lagoon; happy hours; delicious desserts – must try the Local Dessert Plate.
I was given the Deluxe Queen Room, that came with a comfortable large double bed with ample fluffy pillows… This is one of the hotels that has coloured bedding, so it is kind of homey… which is nice..
每间套房都有天井缺点是靠近走廊我们的套房的两间双床房有各自的户外用餐区不过话说风景没有很美而且蛮晒的,就没有去那儿乘凉了
