hidden gems Paaru Cafe and Paaru Bakery give food loving Singaporeans a very good reason to trek up to Pearl’s Hill Terrace
The experience at Asaru is not found anywhere in Singapore at the moment. Service is very personalised and it is an experiential retail and food concept in an intimate and zen space. A great hideaway in town for some zen moments.
This was the satay that I had to reserve 5.5 months ahead of time. At the time of collection, Uncle Ah Pui was no longer making the satay.
This Satay is as legendary as hawker legends gets!
Note that there is no air conditioning in this cafe and you have to climb a flight of stairs to reach Upper Barracks.
Overall, I do like the old school dining vibe at 195 Pearl Hill Cafe, which is definitely one of a kind in Singapore and a solid example of a successful destination dining.
While the highlights at 195 Pearl Hill Cafe is their satays, it serves other food and coffee too.
Ah Pui's pork satay and Sebastian's chicken satay are all hand made, so volume is limited. It is always best to call ahead to reserve your satay before coming.
While the service is slow, the food is made delicately and priced reasonably.
