Overall, Nanjing Impressions deliver a traditional Nanjing dining experience.
I have enjoyed learning more about Nanjing cuisine.
We would certainly want to return to try other items on their extensive menu. It was a simple light lunch – but the nice food and interesting ambience made it an impressive experience…and was that Zhang Ziyi in one of the booths?
One of the items that intrigued me was their baby rooster stew with fried sesame buns. It tasted just like regular chicken. Those fried sesame buns weren't as fragrant as I had imagined them to be.
Roast duck served in herbal sauce. Recommend to drizzle the sauce over a bowl of rice! The roast duck's skin is crisp and tasty, while the duck meat was tender and well seasoned.
Nanjing Impressions Plaza Singapura at Dhoby Ghaut Very Chinese looking, especially so with those lanterns hanging there that actually form the entire menu, Nanjing Impressions does feel like an old quaint restaurant by a random Chinese river. Ambiance worked and the food did leave a pretty good.
The food from what I gather is suppose to be a representation of what's heritage of the cuisine from Nanjing.
The interior was impressive, designed like an olden tea house with hundreds of hanging lanterns (You could imagine Gong Li hanging them), attention was paid to details down to every bowl and plate.
We can foresee Nanjing Impressions to be a popular dining option for diners who love and are familiar with the flavours of Nanjing.
