I came across to know this mountain last year because of THCM group were trying to open a trail from Bukit Bintongan to Gunung Pasir. Credit to those group who's reopen this Bintongan trail recently.
Rating Medium to Hard. The hike up and down Gunung Datuk is the biggest challenge as it is steep and technical particularly in the beginning/end, so keep some fuel in the tank for the clamber down. All-in, Gunung Datuk is one of the more rewarding hikes as it is relatively short and easy to follow, but at the same time has many interesting sights along the way AND a very satisfying view at the top.
