What do We Like about Restoran Ahwa PJ 222? -The many variety of foods serve by the various stalls. Everyone will find what they like for dinner or supper -The bright and airy environment even though there are many stalls preparing the food. We did not feel the stuffiness at all
Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Mee is one of our favourite noodles. Restaurant Ahwa (新青山亚华福建面) located in Jalan 222, Petaling Jaya serves one of the best Hokkien Mee, and it has been our favourite go-to place to satisfy our Hokkien Mee cravings.

Besides "Tai Lok Mee", 新青山亚华福建面 Restoran AhWa also offers a couple of snacks stalls like Balitong, Lala, Satay, Ikan Bakar, and Popiah. Interesting, this Restoran does not offer morning or lunch sessions as it only opens from 4:30pm!
Wat Tan Hor The Hokkien Mee here is famous as you will spot hokkien mee at nearly every table. However, my favourite dish here is Wat Tan Hor (Stir fried flat rice noodles simmered with egg gravy). The flat noodles is stir fried beforehand with loads of garlic, then simmered with pipping hot egg gravy loaded with generous amount of pork slices, vegetables, shrimps and crispy pork lard.
If you're looking for a good Hokkien Mee place in Petaling Jaya, this would be one that I would recommend. Their noodles are so good and so is their sambal. Please be prepared to wait a while for a table as the place tends to be crowded all night long, more so over the weekends. Another excellent preparation that I would recommend here is their Ikan Bakar. It's probably the most expensive one that you can find in Petaling Jaya but totally worth it.

Ambiance: 4/10 Price: 7/10 (non-halal) Hokkien Mee: 7/10 Wat Tan Hor: 4/10 Verdict: The Hokkien Mee is good, but it’s not the best I’ve tasted. Forget the wat tan hor.
