Updated: 10 Feb 2020. Following my post on the Kway Teow Kia stall in Multi Mart kopitiam, many readers commented that I should also try the Hainanese congee or porridge in the same coffee shop. Actually, readers have also mentioned this Hainanese congee stall when I posted about the Cantonese porridge at Taman Johor Jaya. So, with such strong recommendations, we made a trip to check out this much loved Hainanese porridge stall.

👉 When you are in KSL and want to try local instead of more mall food, Multi Mart kopitiam is a popular choice with JB folk. When in Multi Mart, you can give curry pork ribs a try - it is a dish JB folks like. This curry stall does a tasty version of it.

The wait of about sixteen minutes was rewarded with a piping bowl of pork porridge on the table topped with youtiao (chinese cruller), spring onions, fried shallots and preserved vegetables.

There was a number of stalls in the Restoran Multi Mart but since most of the social media raved about its porridge, it's hard to resist. The stall is indeed very specialized and only pork porridge is available. The only permutation they have is with or without egg at a difference of 50 cents RM.
