I personally enjoyed the dim sum here on 22.01.2019, and subsequently 09.08.2019 to sample the Roasted duck Wanton Mee and Dumpling soup!
I got mine with roast duck. The meat was nice and tender, albeit a little lean (I think what makes duck tasty is the fatty layer under the skin!). As for the noodles, they were al dente and the soy sauce flavouring was just right (not too salty).
Leaving 顺興烧蜡 with quite positive experience the 2nd time but still looking forward for some honey glazed charsiew next week coming here again to "Chan Meng Kee", which is just a few shops from 顺興烧蜡!
Since the shop name is "顺興燒臘點心面家 Soon Hing Duck Licious & Dim Sum Restaurant", it must be good at roast duck; that maybe next visit and some of their other Dim Sum offerings.
I will be back for their other Dim Sum choices and maybe also sample their Roasted items and Curry noodle offerings!
So the two of us just ate these - Lo Mai Kai MYR 5.50 nett, Egg Tart MYR 4.20 nett (for 1 portion of 2 tarts) and one bowl of sui gao dumplings soup (5 dumplings) at MYR 6.80 nett (without noodles). They taste decent enough so we don't mind eating here again if there are nothing else we wish to eat in this area.
Most ofthe items here are decent in taste. For barbequed meats, I'd probably go with the roast duck and pork with wantan mee over rice. For a non-full fledged dim sum restaurant, I'd say their small selection of dim sum is respectable. It's here that I found a very good and one of my favourite lor mai kai which I'm sure I'll have again (repeatedly) in future. If you're in the area looking for a a quick and affordably priced meal of rice or wantan mee, with a side dish of dim sum, this is a place you can certainly consider.
