FIVE-TEN being run by kitchen wizards have recently taken to putting some new-fangled dishes to their solid menu including Steamed Live Lobster ($15) and Poached Cod in Soy Sauce ($15); fantastic for those who love affordable luxuries.
For some reasons, their tripe was served on skewers. These were the only things on skewers. But they were good.
Start small, which we did and will repeat the next round when we return. It gets crowded particularly during lunch time, so be there early or be prepared to queue.
Overall I have enjoyed the new menu at Boruto. While there are some minor tweaks needed in some dishes, the concept works for me.
Overall I have enjoyed the new menu at Boruto. Compared to its previous menu which felt more like omakase dishes catered for individual diner, the new menu feels more communal.
Lastly, we sampled two desserts and by then, we were pretty stuffed. It's not often that I see warabi mochi on the menu but they have it here at Boruto. Made of bracken starch, and coated with kinako powder. It has a wobbly soft-jelly like texture and sweetness from the sauce. Almost like eating water.
