A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
Food at Five Guys is American cuisine, focused specifically on burgers, hotdogs, and milkshakes. The menu is small and focused, instead, the emphasis is on maintaining a consistently high quality.
It seems like there are many burger joints in Singapore nowadays; aside from the famous Shake Shack , another international burger brand th...
I thought this was a good cheeseburger this time round, moist and smoky, with the sourness of the pickles and the slightly tart sauce coming through. Satisfying.
Homegrown burger stall Hammee’s Burgers is back from their brief hiatus with new and improved tweaks to their yummy burgers! Read more.
Fried chicken had a nice crisp turmeric batter that sealed in the juices in the meat.
Here is the special that Shake Shack is currently running with, featuring Niman Ranch bacon.
I've had the Chicken Shack from Shake Shack before, but that dark meat hot chicken sandwich in the foreground is a separate menu item featuring thigh meat instead of breast meat, slaw instead of lettuce, and a spicy mix instead of a buttermilk mayo.
In this COVID-19 crowd climate, that's poor performance for fast food.
First impression counts and the thing that intrigued me when I walked past One Fattened Calf (OFC) a few weeks ago was that it would take ...
Another homegrown brand, One Fattened Calf is opened by a husband and wife duo serving delicious hearty burgers.
In bustling Singapore, Fuel Plus+ cafe on Morse Road is a great option for those seeking a cosy cafe off the beaten path. Its interesting and diverse menu and its tranquil location at the foot of Mt Faber sets it apart from the many other good cafes in Singapore.
You definitely do not get to see this rare scene in the urban streets of Singapore.
Overall, food has been slightly above expectation and by looking at other tables orders, i'm kind of convinced that we have to make additional trip back to try other interesting bites, desserts as well as the Mains.
Lil’s Taproom is a craft beer joint located at 11 Sam Leong Rd, in the heart of downtown Singapore. After our craft beer escapades in Hanoi and New Zealand, we really wanted to check out how the craft beer scene in Singapore has developed in recent years.
Overall, it is nice to see the expansion of a hawker brand and Hambaobao is a casual concept to check out if you love some interesting burger flavours.
Our hawker burgermeisters are really giving the gourmet burger joints a run for the money by providing freshly made patties and artisan buns for the price of a fast food burger!
Even though the whole thing was dripping and perfumed with the fragrance of truffle, the patty remained dry and unjuicy. The bun was quite normal, and the fries were over-fried, resulting in a slightly charred taste. Overall a very mixed plate.
it's not bad tasting in the realm of hawker centre burgers.
Overall, I would give Wildfire Chicken & Burgers the following rating: Food: 4/5 Space & Ambience: 3.5/5 Service: 3.5/5
The place can get pretty cramped, as tables are close together to cater to the space constraint.
Wildfire Burgers is simply furnished, minimalist industrial chic decor, and comfortable enough.
Food at Shake Shack is American style fast food, focusing on burgers, hot dogs, hand-spun milkshakes, and frozen custard ice cream.

Nice, succulent and flavourful SmokeShack, with a slightly piquant note due to the chopped cherry pepper.
I hope i am not gloating here as i did have a delicious main compared to my peers! Given the friendly staff, the chillax environment (both inside and outside the restaurant) and the yummy Basque burnt cheesecake, there's a high chance i would be back!
All in all, it was still an enjoyable meal. Super satisfied with my cheeseburger as always – that’s what I come to GRUB for.
The spiciness was one that was quite debatable and we went through several versions of it.
11 reviews of Sque Rotisserie and Alehouse "Good ambiance good venue good views The nice thing about the place is that it is in a very nice location. Easy access, short distances to other party places, nice views of the river and the surrounding…
SQUE Rotisserie & Alehouse offers an inexhaustible generous list of over two hundred types of international bottled beers, spanning across malty full bodied to light fruity. There are also a variety of champagnes, white and red wines, as well as rose and dessert wines to complement the meal.
sQue is definitely a great place for chilling out with friends while enjoying a glass of cold beer with an excellent variety of food – ideal for large groups with finicky taste buds.

Price is explained by the quality of the food and it makes sense to pamper ourselves once a while.
i really wanted to try the Blue cod fillet Burger too. They got me mayo and smashed avo.
As messy as this breakfast was, it was also filling and satisfying.
While I still very much enjoyed their bagels, the only downside was that it could be a very messy dining experience due to all the overflowing meat sauces.
A place we would certainly find ourselves coming back for more in the future; all the best to the folks behind Two Men Bagel House for the opening of their second branch!
Burger Frites Review Joo Chiat
Burger Frites’ prices (with service charge and GST added) were a tad high we thought but the burgers were good though.
This cosy restaurant serves up gourmet burgers and homemade fries and has been a popular hangout spot for burger lovers living in the area.
Five Guys’ commitment to sourcing quality ingredients and delivering a consistently great experience is what differentiates the brand. The bread, which is a Five Guys’ proprietary item, is baked fresh in a local bakery. Potatoes are cut fresh daily, soaked in an ice bath to remove the starch, and double-fried in pure peanut oil to create the firm outside and ‘mashed-potato’ inside that Five Guys fries are known for.
Brought in by Zouk Group, this American cult favourite is a fast-casual burger joint with a simple goal: selling the best quality burgers possible.
To my surprise, this was what came out. Granted, it's my mistake for going the minimalist route like I do with my burgers (at least the patty was nice and beefy!).
The burger was quite nice, with a coarse ground meat patty, slightly smoky, tasty and layered. A very fresh tasting burger, with nice layers of flavours with the light sauce, cheese, pickles and slightly caramelised onions. I would have liked it more meaty and smoky, but this was not bad.
This was a food truck in front of the mall, and served a burger that tasted like McDonald’s cheeseburger, in terms of the patty, the flavour profile and moistness, and the lack of any sauce or smokiness. The only thing that was different was the bun – thicker and fluffier. Not really distinctive, and not warranting a return visit.
Next time, I'll order in advance, although I hope that the online form will have a way to ask them to go easy on the sauce while doubling up on those paper-thin patties.
The pricing is very reasonable and the portions are humongous. As for the food, it is run-of-the-mill, but if you can pay more, the quality gets a lot better and the food becomes more delicious.
Do not expect anything fancy, but down-to-earth quality burgers, basic grills, and of course the quintessential beers!

Broadway American Diner is set to relive the heydays of retro America with a menu of sandwiches, rolls, and toasts to match its milkshakes, burgers, and hotdogs.
食物方面仍然主打怀旧风情的汉堡、热狗、奶昔等等,但也配合重开推出多道新菜。
Broadway also offers old school Coleslaw and other Classic Salads. Hearty Macaroni & Cheese and all-time favourite Buffalo Hot Wings are in the menu list too. I would say it is nice place for comforting American food and meaty goodness with family or friends.
Overall, our lunch South Beach was an enjoyable event. Simple western food in a pleasant ambience. Our server was a pleasant and pro-active lady which elevated the level of service a notch above the average restaurant.
Head here for the burgers if you are looking for a causal dining spot in South Beach. The milkshakes are pretty wicked too, which makes for a perfect complement to the burgs.
