My original fried chicken meal at MYR 22.90+ (10% service charge = MYR 25.19 nett) and a glass of cold barley tea at MYR 1.90+ (MYR 2.01 nett). I kept 3 quarters of the rice and a little more than half of the crunchy chicken pieces for my family (they are helping me to eat my lunch nowadays) and finished the salad, kimchi and taugeh side dishes. I have two dishes of kimchi because my friend gave me hers. I prefer crispy original fried chicken like this instead of those coated with spicy or sweet thick sauce.

This time I ordered the fish and chips at MYR 18 nett. From the taste, this is not dory fish but I am not sure what fish it is because I did not ask. I like the thick chips.

Chicken Chop Burger, 16 ringgit. So, under their chicken burger selection, they offer two options – Chicken Chop and Zinger. The former is pan fried and the latter is deep fried. I opted for the Chicken Chop Burger and boy, it was yummmmmm! Another filling dish, be sure to order this when your stomach is empty. The burger was made up of a combination of burger buns + cheese + a generous portion of a boneless chicken + cucumbers + greens, with a side of fries. It was delicious – juicy, meaty and flavorful. Loved it.

(M6) Butter Curry Chicken with Rice, 15 Ringgit. I dont know how they did it but the butter and curry mix complimented each other well. As soon as the dish arrived, the first thing that would hit you is the smell – the sweet buttery aroma and this would certainly get your mouth all watered up and ready for what you are about to taste. The first thing I decided to taste is the gravy. Man, it was good. First, the creamy, sweetish butter sauce hits you and the the subtle curry Having the flavorsome gravy with crispy, tender chicken thigh. Ooooo yum. I would totally order this dish again… and again… and again.

Generous portion of pasta, cooked al dente, topped with shaved parmesan cheese. For its price, I felt the pasta lacked ingredients as it only had a few slices of mushrooms and some cherry tomatoes, but can’t fault the flavour.

6/10. The School's ambiance is an inviting place to hang out and chill and Jaya One is filled with business people who know how to enjoy life too. But Doi Chaang Coffee does not offer anything else out of the ordinary for me to frequent other than the ambiance. Coffee's good but not enough to draw me to be a permanent fixture and they don't sell mains.

It came looking like a 3 layered iced coffee. Gave it a quick stir and took the first sip. Wow! This is actually very good! I love it. Lovely rich coffee taste even though there’s so much milk in it, plus ice. It’s not all that diluted and still has the rich coffee taste in it. *Thumbs up*

Sweet and sour pork chop rice set with a drink included - MYR12.90++ (10% service charge and 6% GST) which is about MYR15.05 nett. I chose a barley drink and requested it to be less sweet which they did fulfill. I like this set meal because the portion of rice is small and sweet sour pork chop is one of my favourite food from my childhood..

After trying the waffle once, I decided to give the Bingsu (shaved ice) a chance to prove itself so I ordered a coffee bingsu at MYR16.80 nett. Same as the waffle, some of the nuts have an off taste. So this is the only time I am eating this bingsu.

I was surprised at how well everything came together, although the chimichurri sauce was overshadowed by the rendang. There was the al dente bite from the pasta, the grainy texture from the couscous, the crunch of fresh veggies and a burst of sweetness from the corn. The dory fish was also prepared well, with slightly crisp edges. I thought I wouldn’t like it very much because I’m not a big veggie eater, but the sauces masked the leafy, green taste typical of salads.

Chef’s Wrap (Teriyaki), 12.50 ringgit (set). This was a yummy bundle of healthy deliciousness. On the inside, you get generous amount of leafy greens, tomatoes and chicken slices. The sauce used inside this wrap came with 2 options – sesame or teriyaki. I opted for the latter and it was good. Just wished it came in generous amount too, lol. The wrap wasnt the regular pita wrap? The one here was thin and crispy. All in all, the dish as a whole was really good and filling too.

Tom Yum Two, 27 ringgit Every spoonful you take, there was enough flavors in it due to the thick gravy. I loveeeeeed it, happily slurped it all…. yummm! Loads of ingredients – prawns, mussels, clams, squids, mushrooms, baby corns. The noodles were made up of a combination of the usual + black pasta. It all made for an aesthetically pleasing dish that was finger licking good. Burp!
