For the meat lovers, THIRTY8 offers Australian 'Diamantina' Red Wagyu or Black Angus Beef from Stanbroke Farms. We had the rib eye (350g, marbling score 6 - RM350), which was thoughtfully sliced for sharing. Beautifully tender, melt-in-the-mouth and flavorful meat, we certainly enjoyed this and went straight to steak heaven. So so good! I'm also eyeing the Tomahawk for my next visit, very reasonably priced at RM350 for 900g.

Inspired by the Chong Qing-Grilled Fish, Fatt Kee Roast Fish has recently gained a lot of attention from netizens due to its gigantic serving with loads of Seafood swimming in the huge pot. The concept is not new- Deep Fried Fish with Seafood (like Prawns, Squid, Flower Clams) and vegetables soaked in a spicy-savory Seafood broth; served in the way similar to Hot Pot/ Steamboat. The spiciness varies and can be tuned accordingly but the heat-intolerant should be extra careful on selecting the spiciness as it can be lip-burning hot. It can be then enjoyed just like an ordinary Hot Pot, with extra condiments like Udon, Vegetables and Seafood to be added. Do note that there are two branches and both locations are near to each other; one is air-conditioned while another one is al-fresco setting. The flavors were fun and the combination was exciting, a place worth visiting.

The Char Kuey Teow was really good. I can understand why many food bloggers rated Lai Foong to have one of the Top 10 Fried Kuey Teow in downtown KL. The noodles were well cooked and tasty, came accompanied with egg + cockles + fishcakes + Chinese sausages + lard + prawns + taugeh. Here, when you order LARGE, you’d get LARGE, Lots of noodles. The famous Portuguese Egg Tart- RM2.50 per piece. Foo Him Dim Sum's specialty is this Portuguese Egg Tart. It has many fine layers of crispy skin. The egg filling is soft, fluffy and not too sweet. Well, indeed, it is one of best Portuguese Tarts that I have tasted. I even 'tapao'(packed) home some, but it doesn't taste as good if it has been kept for more than 5 hours as the skin will turn soft.

My order from Annie 1 daily lunch menu - rice with pork pattie, vegetables and soup of the day at MYR 8.50 nett. Compared to the sweet and sour pork pattie rice meal I had previously, this one is served without any sauce/gravy so they included a bowl of white radish and dates soup foc.

I had the Dry Wanton Mee with char siew and wantan (RM7.20). I liked the texture and taste of the noodles - very yummy. The BBQ pork (char siew) is also pretty good, slightly lean with a nice caramalised glaze. Since we liked the noodles, so we ordered another plate later - dry wanton mee with char siew (RM7) for sharing.

Still a good place to get your wantan mee and curry laksa fix but you'd probably want to stick with the curry laksa supreme.....washed down with a glass of iced Ipoh white coffee and a sweet dessert of Ipoh mak chuk....yes! ;)

The pork belly slices were juicy and came with enough fat for flavour. This very nice claypot fish dish…which was very nice though I wouldn’t mind a little bit more fish and yam and tofu puffs – the next time I order that, I will certainly ask for more of those and maybe, pay a little bit more.
