This is yet the best White Curry Noodle I have had in Penang, noodle was perfectly cooked with tasty soup "white color" (optional addition of extra chili), the bowl comes with Sotong slices, Fresh cockels as well as QQ Duck blood (instead of Pork blood). Another dish, the 白斩鸡 Deboned Boiled Chicken with Soy Sauce is definitely a must try, one of the best 滑鸡 I have ever tried.

Hola! The transformation is done and there comes a reddish colour of curry mee. It emits a strong essence of curry taste and a pleasant aroma, with the spiciness level can be adjusted depending on the amount of chilli paste you have added. Beware though as too much of the chilli paste may cause choking as it is real spciy! That is why they named it Hot Bowl!

Said to be one of the first few establishments in Penang that offers Fish Head Bee Hoon a couple decades back, Wong Chau Jun is a big name for Penangites whom are old enough to hear of the name. It is one of the popular weekend brunch places for those families with deep pockets. The simple and straight-forward menu suits diners from all age groups, making it a family-friendly dining place in Georgetown. Wong Chau Jun is famed for its variants of Fish-related noodles- steamed Fish with Hor Fun, Spicy-Sour Fish Head Bee Hoon are some of the popular choices. While the prices are of acceptable range, we did not think their food was mind-blowing....

And if you’re just looking for something light and non-spicy, the Fish Head Noodle RM12.90 is a dish you would go for. Many loves eating this bowl of noodle served in a milky fish broth with pieces of fish head, ginger, and aromatic garnishing. On a final note, you can have the dish loaded with extra ingredients like fish fillet, big white prawn, and pork slices.

Ah Gu Pan Mee is not the conventional Pan Mee place that serves Pan Mee in the neighborhood; it churns out atypical but lip-smacking flavors. If you think Pan Mee can only be served with clear Anchovy broth or dressed in dark Soy sauce, think again. Ah Gu, the Pan Mee specialist is creative at churning out Pan Mee... differently, some of the notable choices include Clams Pan Mee, Scallion Pan Mee and the never-out-of-fashion Pork Lard Pan Mee. Opened in less than a month, Ah Gu has garnered an appreciate following.

What better way to warm your bodies and stuff yourself with tasty food other than having Steamboat (Hot Pot)? This new kid in town has fast become one of the favorites for mid-class dwellers; with up to 8 types of soup bases to choose from. Classic soup bases like Pig Bone Soup and Tom Yum are available with a few exquisite and innovative offering for the adventurous, worth-mentioning are Milk Cheese Soup, Green Spicy Soup, Spicy Milk Soup etc. Soup bases aside, Tu Go Liang stands out in terms of the variety of steamboat offering; notable highlights include their home-made Yong Tofu, various types of Fish and Meat Balls, vegetables, meat and seafood. Both Hua Diao Marinated Pork Belly Rice (RM 8.90) and Hakka Style Braised Pork Rice (RM 8.90) are truly meant for carnivorous person. When the bowl of rice is served in front of you, you can practically see the glittering surface of the pork glazed by the rich sauces. On top of that, you can see there are generous quantity of pork belly served for each portion.

Noodles are deeply rooted in our culinary consciousness, there is no one size fits all. There are a lot of varieties on offer and they can come in different size, color, shape, texture as well as flavor. Typically, Pan Mee (a type of Hakka Noodles) is served in the shape of thin, round and smooth texture but Ah Ma Pan Mee, a newly opened Pan Mee specialist at 4th Street Club (Tye Sin Street) decides to do things differently. Using traditional recipe from Pahang, the noodle joint offers Pan Mee in its own style. While the soup bases and condiments are similar, the noodles stand out. They come in irregularly fat-round shape with al-dente (slightly chewy and bouncy) texture. The menu is not big but the air-conditioned restaurant offers a comfortable dining space for hungry diners to have a quick fix; definitely a place where fans of Pan Mee should check out.

Sabah Tomyam (RM 14.90) with fried fish. We are not sure whether this is the real version of Sabah Tomyam or not, as my few years experience in Sabah tells me otherwise. However, setting aside the arguement, the tomyam is great in taste, having a little bit milky taste with a mild spiciness. What we appreciate is the fried fish is served separately from the tomyam soup to prevent it become soggy after being "flooded" with the soup. An excellent choice for a chill night. You may choose the preferred type of noodles for the tomyam.

Feed Me Love's Hot Pot series would satisfy any big eaters, the serving portion is huge with a basket of Hot Pot ingredients as well as a bowl of White Rice. We had the Collagen Hot Pot... the seemingly healthy broth was delicious with a mild vegetable-sweetness but we did not feel a strong presence of the protein (Collagen), as though we were having ordinary healthy Hot Pot broth. The facade might not look promising but behind the door is a Chinese restaurant serving home-styled dishes and an array of premium Chinese Tea. Tea Hall (堂茶茶艺馆) is a time-honored restaurant that has been around for years... most of its businesses are by referral, the place sees constant gathering by a group of Chinese Tea-aficionados. Though it seems to be operating as a tea house, the menu is surprisingly extensive but all items are competitively priced. The air-conditioned restaurant is suitable for family gathering or a casual meal, it is popular amongst the white collar workers in the vicinity.

The plate of barbeque pork and roasted pork is a sight to behold. The slices of meat are cut into a good bite size, thick enough to taste. The offering here looks homey but the prices are very friendly to the wallet. From Rm 7.90 and above, diners are assured of a tummy-filling meal with at least two types of rice dishes. You can select different dishes to complement the fragrant coconut rice (white rice is available too), but the fried chicken and their unique sambal is a must have! Do not underestimate the bit of seemingly not lethal. It is burning hot, yet a bit of it will spice up the flavour of the nasi lemak. We did not try any of the Sze Chuan-influenced Hot Pot but a classic Herbal Cordyceps Chicken Pot instead. The Chicken (and Herbs) are cooked by order, within 15 minutes, the rich, flavorful Chicken Pot would be ready. The broth turns from milky white to yellow and diners waiting in anticipation will be caught in a whiff of alluring aroma of Chinese Herbs. We love how in dept the flavors were and the Chicken pieces were most delicious and tender. As we were about to finish, we requested the server to refill the Chicken broth and made it into Steamboat.
