沙巴亞庇市的美食大多聚集在加雅街 (Gaya Street) ，小小的街道三步一小吃、五步一餐廳的全都是名店來著，但有個特點就是幾間有名的餐廳大都設有分店，分店都選在加雅街 (Gaya Street)開設，唯獨怡豐茶室 (Yee Fung)沙巴僅此一間無分號，至今已有三十年歷史，生意是越來越好
Yee Fung Ngiu Chap (Mixed Beef Noodle) RM8.50 – Beef broth serves with flat noodle, beef slice, beef tripe, beef stomach, beef tendon and etc. The broth was smooth and crystal clear, have a strong beefy taste in it which feels exactly like having authentic soup tulang (Indonesian beef bone soup), except that we have free noodles selection and extra beef toppings for this one.
The restaurant is renowned for three dishes: Yee Fung Laksa (怡丰叻沙), Yee Fung Ngau Chap (怡丰牛杂) and Claypot Chicken Rice (沙煲鸡饭).
Reasonably priced seafood, and fast service. The place is huge, not sure how many shop units combined.

Welcome Seafood Restaurant has their own special recipe when dealing with fresh prawns, and so we took their advice and proceed with Wet Buttermilk Prawn RM45.00 happens to be one of our favorites. The buttermilk prawn is scrumptious (fresh caught and cook), prawn itself is very juicy and tender, while the gravy tastes just like butter stir-fry with curry leaves, you will definitely suck all your fingers during the whole time! 😉

Seafood ingredients make the tomato soup very rich in taste.
If you are fond of pork offal, you will certainly fall in love with this dish.
To me – the most accessible yet most delicious San Nguk Mian is Kedai Kopi Kim Hing Lee at Sinsuran – very near Imperial Boutec hotel and near Seng Hing (delicious Tuaran Mee), Less than 5 minutes walk from my hotel – very convenient for breakfast.

I got 100% satisfaction with my breakfast here, the price is around RM5 to RM11, take a look that the ingredients that they included into a bowl of noodle, it's GENEROUS! and taste SUPERB! It's a good start of my day.
Another signature dish from Seng Hing, Tom Yum!!! The tom yum at Seng Hing is quite different from the normal tom yum gong which you can find in Thailand. I think the tom yum at Seng Hing, or the whole KK is the improvised version by the local people. The tom yum soup is added with some 'coconut milk' or what we called 'san-tan' here in Malaysia. You just have to give this a try, it is spicy, a bit sourish with a rich aroma of 'san-tan', thumbs up!! The one in the photo is 'tom yum mee hun' with prawns.
Another type of Fried Tuaran Noodles with Rice Wine. The Rice Wine flavour was strong and that dish was good for me, but my mom prefer the dry fried Tuaran Mee more!
Keng Wan Hing is a shop located at Gaya Street, Sabah. This shop has been around for more than a decade, serving varieties of noodles, bao, and buns. The bao selling here is packed with varieties and they are made fresh daily. From the window, you can look at the kitchen to see how workers prepare the bao. This place is famous for pineapple bun too which I have missed out on. WIll be back to try next round.
The Polo Bun (RM 1.50 each) has a soft and fluffy texture with a slight crisp layer at one corner of the bun, and filled with a nice pineapple jam which is not overly sweet and just hit the bull's eye. Almost every table in the coffee shop would have polo bun on it, proving its popularity.
Memang sesuai menjadi lokasi kunjungan bagi yang mencari hidangan makanan laut.
The price not entirely cheap if compared with KL standard but reasonably prices I would say. Freshness of the seafood is unquestionably and the good varieties. Service was attentive, courteous and not pushy. Will definitely recommend this place if you look for decent seafood meal at K.K, Sabah.
Kedai Kopi Melanian 3 is one of the places that served delicious and comfortable breakfast. The soup is very warm and flavorful while the meat slices are tender and fresh. The meatballs are bouncy with flavourful. Serving together with the (kon lou) dried version noodle that is packed with soy sauce and slight sweetness. These are the perfect combo. Another selling point is the Madras Milk Green Tea, the green tea is added with milk and packed with Jasmine fragrance is one of my favorite drinks too.
Fook Yuen Café & Bakery (富源) is one of the many eateries along Gaya Street, Kota Kinabalu.
Price is relatively expensive compared to West Malaysia but is a norm in Kota Kinabalu. Above meal for one person which included a bowl of pork ribs and blanched vegetables cost RM 16.50. In terms of taste, the herbal soup has a light but herby taste. Meanwhile, the meat from the pork ribs are tender and enjoyable. Overall, a decent choice to dine in here should you need a quick fix of Bak Kut Teh in Sabah.
We visit Yen Ai on the previous trip and immediately fell in love with it (still craving for more) solely due to their signature Herbal Jelly with honey (龟苓膏) RM9.50 Unlike any Herbal Jelly, Yen Ai version has a firmer texture while tastes more intensive, even the honey provided also has some herbal fragrant on it, we usually finish our own bowl of herbal jelly in the shop then pack a few more back to West Malaysia just to satiate our own cravings! 😉 Herbal Jelly has a good medicinal effect – Helps improves body organs, keeps young and healthy. Also proves to be very effective when dealing with a sore throat.
I ought to put 3 spoon of chili into the Chili Pan Mee in order to get the feeling of a slight spiciness. However, the overall pan mee was plain in taste, lacking of aromatic scent. Probably the soy sauce used did not elevate its overall taste. Nevertheless, at least the ingredients were generous, with plentiful of anchovies, minced pork and egg.
Ho Yuan Restaurant (河源茶室) is a small kopitiam in Taman Hiburan.
The uniqueness of the plate of noodles lie within the own made noodle which possess a springy texture. Known by locals as "Mee Goreng Basah", the noodle is fried and then inundated with starchy gravy, similar to the Char Hor Fun without egg in Penisular Malaysia. At Restaurant Beaufort, the noodle is served with delicious Hakka style pork belly, generous quantity of sawi manis (napa cabbage) and some fried onions. That is why there are hint of fragrance upon some moments when savouring the noodle.
Here comes the main spotlight of the day, the signature Peking Duck RM39.00 – serves with half portion of duck, scallion slices, flour wrap, special sauce, and duck soup. The method of eating was fairly easy, just wrap everything inside (duck, scallion, sauce) then walla, tastes crunchy, fragrant and sweet – roast duck flavor all around your mouth, Also remember to sip a few spoonfuls of duck soup (the real essence) for a better experience while enjoying those wraps. 😉
A serving of Hainanese Steamed Chicken Rice (海南白切鸡饭, RM8.50) comprises of chicken thigh (鸡二度), oily rice (油饭) and clear soup. The portion is just right for one person.
Sandakan Kopitiam (山打根皮蛋饺) is an open-air restaurant at Sri Kepayan Commercial Centre, near the neighborhood of Taman Ridgeview.
While having a meal in New Diamond Restaurant, the signature Pork Ribs King (排骨王) RM24.00 serves as many customers childhood memory, generally is a must have! The marinated pork slice is succulent tender (using the real pork ribs), tastes just like the delicious old-school, we could finish a whole bowl of rice just by having this dish alone. 😉
