Both the tomyam soup and clear soup we had were flavourful. The flavour was balanced, especially the clear soup which exhibit soothing flavour and not dull even having its alone. The tomyam is not the type that has extreme sour taste or fiery hot that can cater to majority of commoners' taste. It is notable the soup portion is considered generous.
I like the decoration here............The restaurant ambient make me feel like to eat more!!
Food here is self service, where you need to take your own ingredient and then give it to the waiter there.
炒麵條 Fried Noodles RM10.00 *This is highly recommended*
Thousand of tourist all over Malaysia visited Penang every month just to enjoy their & dine-in for some delicious seafood by the river or sea.
The taste of the noodle is savory and delicious. The soup is packed with the flavor of prawn while it is thick and addictive. Together with the chili paste this Hokkien Mee is cook in classic and nostalgic taste. Selling at RM4 in small while RM4.50 in big portion, the price of the Hokkien Mee here is very reasonable.
Overall, Ah San Hokkien Mee might not be the best Hokkien Mee we have enjoyed thus far but it is worth the visit.
One of the places in Tambun where you can get reasonable and mouth-watering curry and Seafood dishes is at How Kee Curry 豪记咖哩饭. The preparation of the curry as seen on video is made fresh while the curry taste is sourish and savoury. The Laksa Mantis Prawn, Braised Pork in Soy Sauce and Spicy and Sour Clams are also their best-sellers.
The yam rice is packed with yam aroma as the portion of yam given is very generous. The soup is thick and flavorful, appetizing with a touch of savory.
I love the taste of the soup, i can actually customize what ingredient i want in the soup
Bukit Tambun is the de-facto Seafood place for Penangites- when we want to look for fresh and inexpensive Seafood, Bukit Tambun is the place to go. The recent development of Batu Kawan (the neighborhood next to Bukit Tambun) has brought in large influx of visitors. The demand for fresh Seafood has increased tremendously and many new Seafood restaurants have sprung up in the recent years. Floating Seafood Paradise is one of them. But apart from offering extraordinary seafood dishes, the dining atmosphere is one of a kind too... the restaurant floats. It sits on a man-made fish pond and one would feel the 'rocking dizziness' (like being hit by waves while on boat) while dining in-house but that's part of the package. There's no menu here but the server will recommend whatever they are ready to serve on that day. To find the place, drive along Jalan Bukit Tambun and look for the signage on your right, turn in and you will find it shortly on your left.
Steamed Emperor Red Snapper in Nyonya Style is priced at RM 45, which we thought was pretty reasonable. The Red snapper is fish, and Nyonya style cooking gives the fish a moderate sour and spicy taste, akin to a toned down Thai flavour. There are other steaming style offered, such as clear style and Teochew style. Savouring the fish for our dinner was a true gratification.
We have attended another great lunch today.
Lou Xiang's signature Crab Porridge is one of the must-orders. Unlike those that are cooked for hours, Lou Xiang's Porridge has the rice-shape maintained; but the seafood sweetness is not compromised. Our order was served with 2 relatively huge mud crabs, and for the price of Rm 66, we thought it was a price worth-paying for. While the Crab Porridge was amazing, their Braised Chicken with Soy Sauce was equally delicious. The Chicken was most tender with a mellow sweetness and sleek Rose-wine flavor. Good on its own but even better with their home-made Chili dip. One of the rare dishes that I am willing to go all out to eat again.
ANOTHER GREAT LUNCH in SIMPANG AMPACT.
One of the places in Tambun that serve nice and fresh curry claypot fish head is at Sheng Ji Curry Seafood. This seafood here are fresh from the sea as it is just beside river mouth. The signature dishes here beside Claypot Curry Fish Head are Spicy and Sour Claypot. Another signature is the cuttlefish stir fried with dry curry powder. The aroma of the curry is so irresistible and rich.
The Stir Fried Vermicelli Noodles with Mud Crab is Sieng Kee's signature dish... there was an option to choose between Roe Crabs or Meat Crabs, we had the latter one. The Crabs were fresh and beautifully cooked but probably baking them was a better idea. The whole dish was a little greasier than expected... making it harder to hammer the crabs.
Fu Qi's Steamed Fish with Spicy-Sour Sauce was amazing, not only that the Fish was fresh with firm texture, the accompanying sauce was made of a refreshing but flavorful concoction of Garlic, Ginger, Chilies, Soy sauce and a tinge of zesty element. It blended well with the fish.
Overall, AhMa PanMee maintained its quality and tasty food even on its 5th branch, and even added new menu such as coffee that sure entice more people. Come to AhMa PanMee 阿嫲刀麻切 at Eco Bloom, or the other branches in Georgetown (Lebuh Tye Sin), Bayan Baru Promenade, Juru Icon City or Jelutong to enjoy these delicious traditional recipe Pan Mee.
Prepare to be amazed by the freshest seafood imaginable. The Seafood Gala Banquet stands as a testament to Mei De Garden's commitment to culinary excellence. Savor the succulence of prawns, crabs, clams, and fish, all sourced directly from the deep blue sea.
Restoran Yummy Garden was located at Bukit Tambun is now moved to Simpang Ampat. Famous for Asian dishes, the taste of the dishes is all delicious while the portion is generous and the price is reasonable.
They key feature of the Chai Kueh here is the soft, chewy and translucent like sheen skin containing chives, yam beans or yam as the filling. As shared by the stall owner, yam is one of the most popular items here, while Teochew people has a special affection toward chives Chai Kueh. Meanwhile, Penang Island folks are more keen to have the traditional yam beans.
Billy Hainan Chicken Rice Stall is one of the famous stalls in Tambun that sells decent Hainanese Chicken Rice. The taste of the roast chicken here is similar to the Hainanese style although the owner is not a Hainanese. The same soup here is so appetizing and flavorful. This is a great place to either dine-in or take-away the delicious chicken rice.
Chia Xiang Seafood Restaurant - JUST REALIZE they have Nyonya Curry Noodle now
LY Favorite - Crab Rice...yummy …..
We like the new logo of this restaurant.
We had 2 types of Herbal Soup- The Kampung Chicken Herbal Soup and Duck Thigh Herbal Soup; the former choice had a lighter, cleaner taste while the latter option possessed a bolder meaty flavor. Both were heavy in herbal-aroma
