This is yet the best White Curry Noodle I have had in Penang, noodle was perfectly cooked with tasty soup "white color" (optional addition of extra chili), the bowl comes with Sotong slices, Fresh cockels as well as QQ Duck blood (instead of Pork blood). Another dish, the 白斩鸡 Deboned Boiled Chicken with Soy Sauce is definitely a must try, one of the best 滑鸡 I have ever tried.

我超爱辣椒酱带出来香料美味，可是这次我下手太重，放了3汤匙辣椒酱，结果辣到自己。本来放2汤匙的时候，我们两人觉得不够辣，再多一汤匙下去就过多了，辣椒酱上的香料很多，所以吃的时候可以感受到香料香味扑鼻，只要不要太过辣，你就会享受到白咖喱面的美味。这是有别于一般“咖喱面”的吃法白咖喱面。如果你爱上辣椒酱的话，你也可以买一罐回去。

Hola! The transformation is done and there comes a reddish colour of curry mee. It emits a strong essence of curry taste and a pleasant aroma, with the spiciness level can be adjusted depending on the amount of chilli paste you have added. Beware though as too much of the chilli paste may cause choking as it is real spciy! That is why they named it Hot Bowl!

Spaghetti Aglio E Olio – RM18.90 – You can never go wrong with this dish. For me, I will always order this to determine the food quality of the cafe. This strong garlic-flavoured spaghetti was not a disappointment and the portion was enough to fill up my tummy. It was cooked with lots of garlic, bacon, mushrooms and sprinkled with herbs and cheese powder.

One of the thing we enjoyed here is the all day breakfast menu. Bello breakfast (RM 18.40) is nicely executed with sweet cherry tomatoes, portebello mushrooms, a piece of wholemeal bread, brinjals and scrambled egg. A tad more seasoning on the scrambled egg would have made the entire dish more enjoyable.

Yes! My favourite Kueh Chap is sold here too. Kueh Chap is a bowl of thin flat rice noodles with stewed pork innards. But here of course there is no innards, its just the meat from pork leg. It is indeed outstanding, and a complete meal by itself with meat, a half boiled egg, vegetable and also tau pok. The soup is of right consistency, not too thick nor thin. Yummy!

Priced at RM 7, the Vinegar Lor Mee is not something we see everyday. The serving bowl looks plain and dull with only yellow noodles, but rest assured rest of the ingredients are beneath the noodle. Unlike the conventional starchy soup, the soup here is more liquid and black in colour, then possessing an unique flavour arising from the vinegar. Add on a few droplets of black vinegar provided to give it a stronger scent depending on your personal preference.

To have some unusual wantan mee, drop by at Beng Soon Kopi Tiam, not too far away from KFC Raja Uda, Butterworth. Also know as Drawer Wantan Mee by off timers, the wantan mee is unusual as its thicker therefor more chewie and springy, more like eating the thick flat wantan noodles or the thick noodles use for KL style Hokkien Mee.

Here offer two type of Bah Kut Teh, soup and dried. Personally i recommend Dried Bah Kut Teh but if you have more than 3 person, i would recommend to order both. Both has it unique taste and flavor. Soup Bah Kut Teh can taste the fragrance and delicious of pork soup and herbal taste while the dried Bak Kut Teh can taste the sticky and spicy sauce. Both are equally good.

Our breakfast reached. This is Kaya Butter Toast Very crunchy and delicious. I read somewhere they make their own Kaya. We also ordered 2 half boiled eggs for each of us. They are served in this cute cup instead of a bowl. Fresh and perfectly half boiled. Awesome taste when we dip the bread into the egg.

Kong Thai Lai uses its own home-made Kaya (Pandan scented Coconut Jam) on their Toast, together with a generous spread of Butter, the marriage between the two components was absolutely lovely; best washed down with a cup of Haianese Black Coffee and to go with some fresh Soft Boiled Eggs. The 蛋挞 "Egg Tart" is the signature dish here, not the usual round shape but instead oval shaped and not too sweet, nice! The 猪肉肠粉 "Rice Noodle" also surprisingly different, with I believe comes with pork filling.

Overall dinner was not too expensive with the total bill coming up to RM250 for a total of 6 dish (including fish maw) in this non aircondition, converted terrace house restaurant . What surprice me is the efficiency, with order taken minutes, no confusion and the 6 dish arrived very fast and within seconds of each other, in a full house environment (we got the last available table for that night)

The Char Koey Teow here come with 2 Big Fresh Prawns per plate, and is fried one plate at a time, for full “wok hei” flavor that hard to replicate by those who mass produce CKT. We use to have to wait 1 hour or more in the 80's and 90's, but now at RM8.50 per plate the wait is around 30 min only, plus the fact that this is abit out of the way for most tourist. ­

Spring rolls with BBQ prawn was my favourite but be warned, this is chock full of fresh green herbs and veggies. If you can't stand the taste of leafy herbs, you might want to give this a miss. I've read comments that the rice wrapper was a little on the tough side but I really enjoyed it when dipped into the very spicy chilli sauce. The wait staff told me that they use Vietnamese chillis for their sauces which can be spicier than the local ones.
