On the whole, we love Cure. We adore upscale dining without the hefty price tag; we love how the dishes flirt with British/Irish ingredients and traditions while bringing something a little new to the dining scene; and we love that Walsh is personally steering the kitchen and serving the diners.

The 6-course dinner above 'retails' at s$180++, which is perhaps a little on the pricey side? As is quite common with fine dining restaurants, lunch starts from a much more reasonable s$48++, though, so you could perhaps pay them a lunch visit before deciding on whether to commit to dinner.

Aside from the buffet line, you will also get to choose from the weekly a la carte menu such as Baked Norwegian Salmon and Roasted Scallops.

You should not leave Equinox without trying their dessert. You will not regret it. Even myself who is not a dessert person, could not resist myself helping to them. That just shows how good they are.

It was an enjoyable lunch as the food at Rhubarb was of a high quality. We thought that the service and the premises were fine but not at the level of the food. But at $45 for the set lunch, we cannot complain. This is good a value for money lunch.

Service was efficient and faultless, there is nothing to fault about Rhubarb Le Restaurant really. Perhaps the food came across as being rather safe and predictable, when our palates were hoping to be surprised.

All in all, it was a day of a hit and misses. Another thing we felt was missing was that despite its name, we did not feel that we were in Italy. The sense of warm hospitality that Italian restaurants are known for was something we missed.

The service was attentive without being overbearing, the the cost at S$110 per head including alcohol was surprisingly good value compared to the many “brunches” on offer in the Hotels. Well worth the effort and a must to try next for Dinner.

Another area I thought could have been more polished was the narrative. Not that the service staff was any bad, but some were more engaging and looked sincere when introducing the dishes, whereas others who rushed through looked like they treated it as part of their daily job.
