new menus to start your gastronomic journey for 2023 at Buona Terra, Chef’s Table, Esora, Lumo, Restaurant JAG
The One-Michelin starred restaurant at Duxton Road Restaurant JAG spots a new Autumn Menu, and it extends the herb driven cuisine by Chef Jeremy.
Restaurant JAG is not your typical French restaurant and its uniqueness is certainly what earned it its Michelin star.
One-Michelin starred restaurant Alma by Juan Amador Celebrates Its 6th Year with a Specially Curated Anniversary Menu which will be available from 1 to 30 September 2021. Choose between the special 5-course lunch & dinner menu (from 12 to 2:30pm, 6 to 10pm) at S$198++/pax, or the grand 8-course dinner menu (from 6 to 10pm) at S$298++/pax.
Pasta and all that were quite standard. Swimmer crab pasta had generous amounts of crab, and tasted like curry pasta. The pork jowl was soft with an interesting salty savoury sauce, and the rice was like a fragrant and tasty glutinous rice, without the stickiness.
During this tumultuous time where the world is besieged with one crisis after another, Alma by Juan Amador is determined to play its part by continuing to provide quality and delectable food to diners. The specially curated warm, comforting meal and delightful bundles aim to bring smiles to the dinner table and spread positivity despite the juncture we are in.
Nice setting for French cuisine; not as formal and with elements of Balinese design. I do like the high tables and chairs although they might not be as well-liked by other diners. Oh well, it's hard to satisfy everyone!
Dishes recommended were the Southern French-style flaky pizza pissaladiere of Provence, the Alsatian tarte flambee made a la minute, and locally-sourced prawns marinated with French-Spanish influence and garlic, and more!
I got this plate of scrambled eggs with some crusty sourdough bread, and it was delicious. I devoured it all quickly, and started to wonder what their lunch and dinner was like, especially since they seemed to have a decent selection of cheese and booze. I'll have to come back soon to find out.
Next thing to do is to convince Chef Pang on an Antoinette breakfast kiosk concept around the island. It'll sell better than Hotcakes i bet!
The refreshed line up of Antoinette’s menu include over 70% brand new offerings that are presented with the best and most authentic European favourites in a casual bistro-style.
The seasonal Crispy Pork Belly ($28) is a favourite with pork belly cured and confit in duck fat for a day pressed to shape and fry over low heat to achieve the perfect tender consistency, well-rendered fats, and thin crisp skin.
db Bistro & Oyster Bar by Daniel Boulud
DB Bistro Moderne @ Marina Bay Sands, Daniel Boulud’s restaurant.
Food was very decent but pricing is definitely on the high side (branding + location I guess). Service was excellent.
Gaston serves real French food in a friendly and lively environment in Singapore’s Chinatown. This restaurant is on Keong Saik Road.
All of the starters were must-tries: the Foie Gras Poêlé ($33) of pan-seared foie gras was excellent.
Gaston's steak tartare was not bad.
Odette Singapore restaurant at the National Gallery has won a lot of accolades in the short span of five years. From zero to three Michelin Stars. Unfortunately prices seemed to keep pace with the awards. We had almost given up hope of dining there. Until recently.
Such an upscale place meant that the service and decor were there to match, right down to the gorgeous stemware. Fortunately, lunch prices weren't as bad as I thought they would be; even the cheaper four course meal came with an array of amuse-bouche, palate cleansers, and petit fours, so much that we were stuffed.

A charming slice of France in Joo Chiat. Braseiro seems relatively under the radar when it comes to steak frites in Singapore and that makes up part of its charm. Head here for a cosy and affordable steak meal, and the service is very hospitable too.
Braseiro Steak Frites Restaurant Joo Chiat Singapore
places like Uno Beef House are bargains that I enjoy exploring. But I was (foolishly) expecting something completely different for this special occasion, and yet we still paid quite a bit in the end. At least the fries were half-decent.
At Nox, the idea of dining in complete darkness is novel, and it was fun trying to figure out the dishes laid in front of me from across the 3 platters.
NOX’s Valentine’s Promotion consists of exclusive Valentine’s Welcome Drink for each guest, 2 amuse bouche, 3 course Mystery Menu, 3 Mocktail Pairings and Petit Fours in a box with a stalk of rose for $168++ per pax.
It may sound gimmicky, and you may think that the food would be just mediocre, but I promise you that the food is excellent.

Which French Bistro in Singapore to have a nice cosy dinner? The familiar Bistro Du Vin at Shaw Centre usually comes to mind. And so that was where we headed for a family get-together recently.

Overall, I’ve always enjoyed the vibes and food by the Merci Marcel group. With well-appointed interiors and a heavy focus on French flavours, it’s definitely what sets them apart from the game.
Racines situated at fifth level of Sofitel Singapore City Centre introduced a weekday semi-buffet dinner thoughtfully crafted by Executive Chef Eric Seow.
Overall, LD and I like the food served at Racines for the French. When we went in March and April, we notice the menu is similar.
The cod fillet is done beautifully, with crispy skin and fork-tender meat underneath.
Overall, I would give Merci Marcel the following rating: Food: 4/5 Space & Ambience: 5/5 Service: 4/5
Like these raclette toasts which were nice.

法式田螺在法国餐厅里并不稀奇,但富丽敦海湾酒店(The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore)法国餐厅La Brasserie推出的田螺主题限定菜单,推出的不是常见的焗田螺
Classic, yet vibrant and modern, from the existing space that houses both a bistro and an epicurean grocer, So France now extends with a new alfresco terrasse for nights of drinks, tapas and sharing platters.
overall, the lunch deal is a steal, and the food is outstanding enough for us to risk a second time there.
We had a nice meal from L’Entrecôte tonight, inclusive of this nice cheese board after our steak-frites.
L'Entrecote is definitely a place for affordable steak and fries.

I don't think anyone is going to want to come near me now, but I'm happy to eat here again.
I don't think it was really forty cloves, but it was a lot, and they were delightfully soft, going nicely with the deliciously salty chicken.
Cosying up in the cast iron casserole with some salad are their meaty frog legs - sautéed with garlic, onions and parsley. These aren't seasonal. I remember seeing them all the time on the menu. They're pretty good.
Beni Singapore is a fine-dining restaurant offering Japanese reinterpretation of authentic French cuisine with Chef’s Table Experience
we're always happy to bust our carb limit whenever we dine at Beni.
Beni definitely lives up to it’s One Michelin Star accolade. Every course of the menu is consistently good, down to their homemade breads.
