Lavish Fusion Bakery is located at a heritage shop along the bustling Victoria Street and is ornamented with pink walls, plants, and beautiful mural art which depict the elements of strong nature, tropical and beach vibes.
But on the other hand, Wild Berries Lemonade captured our heart with its amazing taste. A taste featuring the sour and sweetness that triggers the senses in unexpected ways, YUM!! Wild Berries Lemonade @ RM 17.20
Roasted chicken Green Curry at about MYR 28.5 where the green curry gravy is served in the very small glass container shown ini the photo.
The Sotong DeSumbat was probably our favorite dish of the day- huge squid stuffed with minced Meat and grilled over fire for the smoky touch. The dish was served with 2 types of sauces- a Vietnamese-inspired Fish Sauce dip and a Honey Mustard-like dip; both went well with the Squid though we would prefer the Fish Sauce dip for a more refreshing touch
Here's the location.
Seafood lovers can try the warm claypot of Udang Entangled, a chowder-like soup base noodle prepared with a tinge of alcohol. In the pot of bright orangy yellow colour soup, there is pronounced Chinese wine flavor and light depth of spice, and the owner uses vermicelli (glass noodles) and two huge prawns. Priced at RM38, the portion makes it a good dish for sharing between two.
Overall, the drinks are just so-so, the waffle though was quite impressive.
If you are looking to get something for your pet, they sell pet food and accessories.
On mains, we seemed to enjoy the signature Pork Collar more than Roast Chicken... the former dish tasted a little Char Siew, except that it was the melt-in-the-mouth tender. The meat was sous-vided before grilling, so you can sort of relate that soft-tender texture.
One of the trending and upcoming places in town, The Coco Island Street Food Penang is the place. From Street Food to Western food, from Japanese Food to Chinese Food. From Bak Kut Teh to Seafood. All these varieties are up for selection. The dinning area is specious and cozy. Those that looking for a new place for breakfast, lunch or even dinner. You need to check out this place.
White curry mee in Red Garden is really a hidden gem that not many people know! The taste is rich, and after adding the chili it makes a sleek finishing for the soup. Strongly recommended if you happen to visit Red Garden. Lor Mee is another great option too, having a aromatic soup with decent fluidity despite it being a starch soup. Add the chili and garlic to give it an elevation in terms of taste.
Malaccan-Portoguese Spicy Bihun is one of the items under the Set Lunch menu. The dish was a little too moist to our liking, the Vermicelli Noodles were too soft in texture, if it was not because of the chopped Chilies, we would have a hard time finishing the dish.
A year from its opening, 17 Kelawei Fusion Cuisine on Jalan Kelawei in George Town, Penang celebrated its first anniversary with the launch of a new menu on 2nd August 2017. The menu features an array of dishes combining flavors of the West and elements of Chinese and Nyonya culinary traditions.
There are 2 different options- Breakfast Set (Rm 15.90 per item) and Breakfast Menu (Rm 25.90 per item), all orders are entitled for the free-flow semi-buffet. Their French Toast was a mediocre dish, Baguette-alike bread was used in lieu of soft-fluffy bread, the outcome was a hard-chewy piece of French Toast sans the eggy aroma. The Honey was of ersatz quality, though we did not expect to see Maple Syrup here but the Honey was a tad too watery to our liking.
Overall, De Secret Garden is a unique place to have a private dining experience with your closed ones. Since there is no menu from the restaurant, it gives you the unexpected rather than the expected, and that’s what makes the dining experience unique and exciting. The maximum allocation for De Secret Kitchen is 18-20 pax upon reservation only. Dinner starts from 6pm till midnight. Currently, it is priced at RM188 per pax, which is considered very reasonable for private dining. Menu will be seasonal and you can state your preference in advance. The only drawback for this place is the difficulty to get parking and the place could be easily missed since it is so private and “hidden”.
We were served a 8-course dinner for RM 188/pax that night. Please bear in mind that the menu will be different everyday as Chef Joe prepare the dishes based on the fresh ingredients he managed to procure during that day.
The cafe is actually having some promotion for this Chinese New Year and to save you the trouble of going to the market, preparing, cooking, and the most tedious part of all, washing, then why not bring your family over to De Wok & Pan Cafe as they are having the semi buffet lunch as well as buffet lunch on the first and second day of Chinese New Year.
RM 28.80 per pax for Prosperity Semi Buffet Lunch (2nd Feb to 10th Feb, except 5th and 6th Feb) and RM 48.80 per pax for Chinese New Year Full Buffet (5th to 6th Feb, 11.30am - 2.30pm). That is a real bargain, considering you will have access to variety of dishes that included fish, lambs and even baby abalone for the full buffet!
If you prefer something light, go for Bread Pudding with Ice Cream (RM 9.90) which we thought is unique as the bedding include slices apples and dried cranberries for a fibre rich breakfast
We enjoyed our visit, thanks to the clean, simple ambience and the good food here.
Lamb Stew with Garlic Toasts was the star dish of the day, the meat was tender and the flavor-combo was beautifully done. The accompanying Garlic Toasts were not shabby either, the texture was fluffy and soft, almost like buttered Brioche. The seasonings were however, on the heavier side.
For meat lovers, there is smoked duck stew and the lamb shoulder korma. These two dishes stewed with plenty of spices are served with cucumber raita, a cooling accompaniment prepared with charred Japanese cucumber, mint, and yogurt.
Canning Dim Sum Express is now open for Dine in again, so you may have your favorite dim sum comfortably inside of Canning Dim Sum Express again and what is more awesome is that they are now certified HALAL.
Canning Dim Sum
The ambiance of the restaurant makes it a really good spot for catching up with friends and family.
Affordable and yummy breakfast available at Batu Lanchang, this place is known to many by breakfast under the tree but the actual name is ROTI by Golden Bowl.
Loved the Salted Cheese Series which sounds off putting however it tastes amazing.
Having all these special and tasty food under one roof is awesome, I can pick and match what I want to eat from their menu, then enjoy a good relaxing breakfast under big shady tree.
The Little Chef certainly storms up the kitchen presenting a delicious menu for those with big appetite.
If you so happen pass by the area, it is not an experience you'll regret having
