Becareful of this cheating place - they will not serve if they do not have the item in their kitchen / replace it to something cheaper. Even if it's 50%, Senjyu is completely not worth it. Two times is definitely great for me to say this place is crap and I hope they realise they are pretty shitty in terms of service and their food portion.

Verdict: The server there is really accommodating to our request and speedy service .. It's better to make a reservation if you want to be in a big group as the space of this eatery is not that large and it fills up rather quickly .. They have recently updated their menu with the inclusion of the dessert menu!

Stone Grilled Beef (RM29) The hot tapas list features some substantial meaty items. The Stone Grilled Beef and Spicy Miso Lamb Rack are our favourites. Marinated well, the meat is tender and juicy, delicious to the last bite.

SUMI Genshi-Yaki Sakeba Restaurant

"Irrashaimase"! (Welcome). To love Japanese food is to love subtlety and umami, and then wash it all down with sake. "The first rule of cooking one learns in Japan is "Sozai o Mamoru" which means to protect an ingredient; or to showcase an ingredient's flavor without masking it", says Chef Anson Ng from Hong Kong with 20 years experience in Japanese Restaurant in Hong Kong, Peking and across Mainland China. When you pop a sushi (寿司) , sashimi (刺身) and yakitori (焼き鳥) in your mouth, it is the fresh and honest flavors that woo you because main ingredients are flown in weekly from

My absolute favourite is their house-made Miso Ice Cream. Scattered with buttery caramel pastry crumbs, the smooth slightly saltish ice cream is just so delectable!

Verdict: As I’ve mentioned in the beginning, the Shabu Shabu Set with top notch quality ingredient felt value for money, hence decent for its price. If Shabu Shabu not your thing, try out their Kushiyaki and pair with their selection of sakes or beers. I was told that special Binchō-tan (備長炭) or white charcoal is used for the grilling. The charcoal is completely odourless which enabling you to enjoy the natural flavours of the food.

For the past couple of days, I have been having cravings for Don (short for donburi - a Japanese rice bowl dish). Hence I decided to drop by Five-HT, a Japanese Fusion restaurant, for dinner. One of the reasons why I enjoy fusion food so much is because the amalgamation of flavors and textures, never ceased to surprise me. Marrying conventional ingredients the unconventional way - sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't, and at most instances, I'd never know what to expect. Five-HT however, was a little bit of a hit and miss for me. Tip: Stick to the Dons and the Coffees.

FIVE-HT (or 5HT) Cafe at Bangsar Kuala Lumpur (*Same row with Maria Steakhouse) raises the attention of cafe hoppers with their modern contemporary interior that carries cozy charm, but no trace of big breakfast, egg benedict, French toast or any creative food that can branch out from classic brunch favourite on the menu. Japanese rice bowl takes the center stage here, while keeping coffee as the focused beverage, with coffee beans proudly sourced from various countries.

For Teppanyaki, we were served the Seafood Teppanyaki. It comes with a combination of white squid, prawns, scallop, a piece of Salmon and oyster which is wrapped in a mini omelette. Teppan-grilled to the right balance, it retains the succulency and bouncy texture of the seafood. Served with a side of grilled garlic which is a nice add-on for those that loves their garlic.

Our next dish was the Shake Sashimi or Salmon Sashimi. If you love sashimi, order this Shake Sashimi and you will be delighted or rather impressed with the thick cut fresh and succulent salmon. The chefs at Hana Tei makes sure each slice of sashimi dished out are at 30 grams per piece.

As usual, no visit to Eatomo is complete without ordering one of our must-haves, the Wok-Fired Spicy Gyutandon @ RM21.90. This time we even went overboard and doubled the beef tongue for an additional RM15 until we can't even see the rice underneath...hehehe! ;) You can also add on an extra rice for a more substantial meal (or share the dish between two).
