Wouldn't recommend the grilled fish here at all but I would come back to try other cuts of their wagyu.
The well marbled sirloin steak was tender, succulent, flavourful and luxe without being overly fatty, although it did feel a bit cloying after the meal. Nice, almost like in Japan.
It was fried nicely, but all I could taste was the panko rather than the meat itself. We also ordered a ribeye, whose fatty meat taste was much more pronounced and enjoyable, but it was a whopping S$48.90 (US$35) for a 220g cut. You get what you pay for.
if you are a fan of Unagi or wish to try Man Man unagi, I would suggest having the Unagi Tamago Don or Unagi Bento.
The unagi special menu will be available at all seven Teppei Syokudo outlets till 31st August 2017.
Overall, our experience at Tokachi Tontaro can be described as “pretty average”.
The crispy Sesame Chicken Wings ($7 for 3pcs), and Hokkaido Crab Cream Croquette ($7 for 2pcs) are worthy sides to order too.
Known for their affordable gyozas, Gyoza-Ya has recently launched a new set menu which is exclusive to both Plaza Singapura and Northpoint outlets only.
