Reasons to visit Byblos TREC KL: the freshest of ingredients; everything including bread and pastries are made in-house from scratch; an extraordinary number of vegetarian dishes; my personal favourites are the Hummus with Nuts, Shakshouka and Grilled Fish; cheese lovers should be sure to give the Shanklish – Lebanese Roquefort – a try.
Reasons to visit: Feast yourself silly on a range of mezze platters, including traditional dips with breads, fatayers, falafels and anything with lamb. Simply good food, traditionally made, with very reasonable prices. For the adventurous souls try the nayyeh with garlic paste and wash it all down with some Arak. Kesah!
Reasons to visit Lounge in the Sky Malaysia: fun and memorable experience; especially great during celebrations when fireworks are going off around the city.
On the menu of our standard session (RM199) was prawn ceviche with yuzu cream, bonito flakes and fried oba leaf; mushroom fricasse with chive cream and fried shallots; and for dessert, lemon meringue tart with rose cream and chocolate pearls. Everything was excellent, but being a fan of mushroom, I especially liked the mushroom fricasse and its savoury, crumbly pastry shell.
Reasons to Visit: Fantastic selection of cocktails and specialty drinks (Mon T.’s fav – London to Tokyo, my fav – Mr. Ikki); makes for a great night out with friends or even a romantic date with soft-enough music to actually have a meaningful conversation; delicious finger foods; and chic but subdued lounge ambiance.
