Personal Opinion If you want variety, you've certainly come to the right place....just not everything is good though. I've only scratched the surface of what the many stalls here offer. I guess I'll have to work through the many stalls here to see which ones I like. For now, I'm pretty happy with this surprisingly worthy find of a good Penang Hokkien (aka Prawn) Mee while the Mee Jawa would be my other choice.

I don't know why I've never tried Devi's but ever since I've had Devi's Crab Curry, I seemed to have gotten hooked to it. I also like their wonderful Mango Chutney!! The sweet and savoury dish goes so well with rice! This is the ideal place for vegetarians, you can enjoy a very flavourful meal without meat!

First of all, to clarify that they are not Two Sons Bistro at Publika (which I thought they are). An outlet that sits at the far end corner that makes them a hidden gem at Mid Valley or located next to Brotzeit that brings you good food from the Northen region. The Petai Fried Rice was pretty good. 24 ringgit may seem quite steep to some of you but do bear in mind that it comes in a large portion. WE weren’t too hungry as we had a heavy breakfast just a few hours prior, which was why we ended up with fried rice and noodles, instead of rice with meat and vegetables. The ‘Small’ option for fried rice literally had enough to feed 2 peeps. No joke. It would have been too much for just one person. The fried rice had loads of petai in it, which I loved. Always having to run off to one meeting after next, indulging in petai is a luxury. Considering I was meeting free this particular day – I can eat as much petai as I want and fart equally as much, lol. Besides the loads of petai, there were plenty of prawns, squids, chicken. This was a yummy dish. My all time favorite would still be the one served at Precious old China but this was equally as awesome.

Our last visit to this eatery was more than a year ago. Green Curry Restaurant has new items in their menu now and one of them is steamed wine chicken rice set with a drink which we ordered (we chose a glass of hot herbal drink) at MYR 10.90 nett. The rice is just plain rice and the chicken is a bit salty. The taste of wine is not very strong in this dish. Two of us shared this set for an early dinner which is quite sufficient.

This time I ordered deep fried wantons (a plate of 6 pieces for MYR 6.90 nett) and Sweet Potatoes Tong Sui at MYR 4.90 nett but the latter was not available so I changed it to Red Bean Tong Sui at the same price so my lunch costs MYR 11.80 nett in total. The skin of the wantons is too thin so although it is very crispy, it is too oily but the filling is tasty with a cube of crunchy jicama or water chestnut in each wanton. I won't order it again because of its oiliness. I just realise that this combination of food is similar to my lunch at Weng Wah.

Look at it, would you? It was filled with a variety of ingredients. There was not a single spoon I took that only had noodles in it – awesome!!! There were prawns, squids, chilli, taugeh, onions, shredded omelette.. anything that could possibly accompany a plain Mee Siam, it is on the plate. Overall taste – pretty good. It had a ‘home cooked’ kindda feel to it, which I liked a whole lot. Yumm!

Asam Laksa, 16 ringgit. The Asam Laksa was good. The only downside to this dish was that the broth was a tad watery. Other than that, it was all good. It tasted awesome, I enjoyed slurping it away , it surprisingly eased my throat. I like how they cut the laksa noodles into smaller pieces. The long noodles are usually slippery, it often is a battle in it self using chopsticks to get a couple of those noodles onto the spoon. Well, in this case, they thought about this complication and made it a whole lot easier for me. As, you would notice, the dish came in a generous portion – lots of noodles, onions, greens, 2 large pieces of fish. It certainly did fill my tummy, satisfyingly.

This Curry Chicken Puff was one of the best puffs that I have come across. Unlike the rest that only comes with plain curry, this was actually filled with minced chicken and it totally filled the puffs. The size of the puff was pretty large as well and good to fill a moderate eater. The crispy layers of the puff were excellent and so was the curry fillings. 10/10 is what I shall be giving for this. Highly recommended!
