Overall, it was a satisfying dinner and we wouldn’t mind returning to Bamboo Garden again for the fresh ingredients, great chili sauces and friendly service.
Verdict: Although the soup base here is far being impressive in my books but this place certainly a great alternative when we craving for pork bone soup steamboat because Coco Steamboat is quite far for us. The flavors of the broth is not shabby at all but I think it can be enhanced further.
The RM 88 set is perfectly good for 4-6 person where they are completed with 5 plates of pork slices, 2 plates of Smoked Bacon Special , 1 plate of chicken, 1 plate of Black Pepper Chicken, 1 plate of Squid , 1 plate of chicken, 1 plate of fish paste, 2 plates of choice of Lamb or beef and 2 sets of basic steamboat selection. With this price, it is really reasonable and what’s more the ingredients are fresh.
Basically, we stuffed ourselves silly with roe crabs and yabbies that night and went home satisfied. Service wise, I thought it was great and I approve the fact they hire local aunties to work in the restaurant. They were some of the most efficient, friendly and courteous staff we have ever encountered. With that said, I feel the biggest weakness of Oppa Steamboat Buffet lies in their soups. We had the chicken herbal and tomyum soup and both of them tasted kind of weird. Not terrible, just don’t taste expected. Maybe it’s their own recipe or something.
