The robust salty savoury fermented prawn taste was rather flat and it overwhelmed any flavour there was in the skin and moist meat of the chicken wing. The whole chicken wing tasted only of fermented prawn paste based marinade.

Last but not least, you can’t just tell people that you went to Big Tree Foot (大树脚) without having their signature beverage – Red Bean Ice Smoothies (红豆冰) which costs only RM2.50 per cup. Tastes mild sweet, flaky and irresistible strong red bean flavor, this long-forgotten cold beverage is definitely the best duo with Yong Tau Fu (quench thirst and wash any greasy feel), not to mention it just feels awesome drinking cold stuff under any hot sunny days! 😉

My Personal Opinion If you're looking for a good Chinese nasi lemak with pork on the menu, a sambal and rendang that can give the Malay ones a run for their money....this is a worthy contender, for sure. It was certainly a lot better than many of the Chinese-made nasi lemak I've tried so far.

A small serving Char Kuey Teow cost RM6 while the large one is RM7. The large Char Kuey Teow here is fairly big and can be quite filling even if you are a big eater. The Kuey Teow noodles were moist and loose with an amazing “wok hei” flavours which you can smell and taste. The grumpy uncle was indeed skilful in controlling the heat and wok which made the noodles charred but not burnt surface with a strong smoky aroma.

The char koay teow here is really good. Each plate of char koay teow is fried individually to ensure that the same standard is applied on each plate. The thing I like about this char koay teow is that it has enough ‘wok hei’.

Fried Kuey Teow, 7.50 ringgit (Big) Having tasted it, I can almost guarantee that not one of us regretted our decision because it was tasty yawwww! A big plate would cost you 7.50 ringgit and a small plate would cost you 6.50 ringgit. The dish came with plenty of fish cakes, prawns, taugehs, cockles. It was delicious. I’d certainly be back here. It is surprisingly understated, I think. Despite its popularity, it was rather quite during brunch/lunch. Naturally, that meant that food arrived really fast too, which is another plus point.

Though some may say it's one of the best pork noodles in KL and many sing its praises, I'm sorry but I don't share the same sentiment (it's still decent but I prefer others). I guess I just have a different taste bud, that's all. Unless I'm looking for a value-for-money bowl of pork noodles, I don't see myself rushing here anytime soon, more so when I have to wait an insanely long time for it.

Their version of Oh Chien 蚵煎 is not that starchy (unlike Kuala Lumpur’s Oh Chien 蚵煎) and the omelette is cooked to perfection. I love how the omelette is cooked to golden brown colour. You get to taste the soft texture of the omelette and the oyster and crispy texture of starch. Thus, you compliment it with the chilli sauce and you will not regret ordering a second plate. Addictive as it is, this will be my favourite stall for Oh Chien 蚵煎 whenever I visit Johor Bahru.

Then the Roti Canai Pisang is sweet due to the usage of sweet bananas. Anyhow, the winning tip is the savoury curry gravy. It is unique and imparted a very nice flavour to the roti canai, and you will yearn for more and practically drench your roti canai with the curry to enjoy it thoroughly.
