冬粉放在煲的底部,螃蟹放在上面焗,冬粉飽滿吸收螃蟹的精華,吃起來味道很棒!至於兩碗醬汁我有點忘了是什麼味道,大概就是酸辣的味道吧,Mr.Ong十分喜歡,我就比較喜歡吃原味的。

SO is On Lok Yun as much of a “MUST-VISIT” place like what everyone says? Well… If you’re intending to tour around the Chinatown area, then why not? Otherwise, if this is out of the way and you’ve difficulties in fitting this in your itinerary, I’d say skip it. The food here isn’t out of this world, just plain classic old breakfast you could really just whip up on your own, really. It’s probably just the ambience, the effort to get here, and the taste of the food that brings back the kind of homely happiness and nostalgia that keeps people coming back whenever there are in Bangkok! My friend Gavin Chan (who eats mainly atas food) said, “You MUST try the Drunken Noodles”, and he was not drunk when he told me that. The 400 Baht plate consists of flat rice noodles fried in hot & spicy sauce, and jumbo prawns marinated in wine. Frying it over coal fire meant that the noodles had more wok hei.

Jay Fai是位於舊城區的小炒店,非常出名,雖然店鋪小而且裝修簡陋,但仍然客似雲來。出名的原因是用料新鮮,全部都是真材實料,其次就是價錢貴,很難想像到一間小店吃晚餐的價錢要過千Baht,有如在貴價餐廳吃晚餐,但當你吃過便會覺得物有所值,當然前題是要捨得花錢吃,店內最出名的蟹肉奄列要800Baht,醉貓炒河要400Baht。

Kuay Teow Kua Gai Nai Hong (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวคั่วไก่นายฮ้ง) is definitely one of the prime spots in Bangkok for kuay teow kua gai (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวคั่วไก่), no doubt about it. I loved it, and especially that vibrantly smokey flavor that saturated the noodles, chicken, and egg. I did think it was a little salty (probably MSG too), but I won’t lie, that did make it incredibly tasty.

Savoey stir fried curry crab. I love this. The curry is not spicy and fragrant. The crab is fresh and I can order a couple of more plates of this, I can promise you. Probably what missing here is the Chinese bun (mantao). This is gorgeous.

店鋪位於角落,還拉起了帳篷,不細心留意也不會察覺到原來是一家雪糕店。門口的櫥櫃放滿了雪糕的配料,店內粉藍色的牆壁上部份油漆已剝落,掛滿了舊照片及傳媒報導,部份已發黃,可見店鋪歷史悠久,也多了一份懷舊味道。雪糕有多種口味,除了招牌的椰子,還有芒果也是很受歡迎,每款只售25Baht,芒果則要40Baht,可隨意加上不同的配料。如喜歡看舊事物、舊情懷,便要來試試傳統的泰國雪糕,附近一帶還有很多傳統老店及舊建築。

Ae Seafood除了在店內,晚上在路邊也放滿座位,只有簡單的裝修,靠著新鮮的海鮮吸引食客,是吃炭燒海鮮、小菜,喝啤酒的地方。店員都不太會講英文,Menu上全是泰文,只附有小量圖片參考,可先準備想吃的菜式的泰文,或圖片,一般價錢都是1-200Baht左右,部份海鮮按重量計。比較多人點的是炭燒河蝦,牛油蒜蓉燒扇貝,招牌的蝦粉絲煲 ,魚露炸魚,炒通菜等等。如果想平吃海鮮,地道風味又唔介意無裝修,Ae Seafood很值得去。

Although this is considered street food, the price is not street at all because of the quality of ingredients used. The crab itself is about 600gm while the prawns were jumbo sized and tasted extremely fresh. If you could only pick one, I’d say go for the prawn version mainly because crab is messier to enjoy.

he winning dish for us was without a doubt their Fresh Noodle in Spicy Pork (145 baht), and it’s no wonder it’s the White Flower Factory signature dish. Looking suspiciously like kway chap when it was first served on our table, we wondered for a moment if we ordered it. But when we took a spoonful of the soup, the richness of the broth won us over. 位於朱拉隆功大學旁的飲食街(Soi Chula一帶)的Pheng Racha ,是一間專賣泰式炒粿條(Kuay Teow Kua Gai ก๋วยเตี๋ยวคั่วไก่)的小店,除了正常版的炒粿條,也有這店發明的特別版。正常的炒粿條是用大火將粿條煎香、再加上雞肉、魷魚及蛋後再炒成,在舊城區一帶都有賣,如在Kuay Teow Kua Gai Worachak。而這家店發明了用香魚絲去代替粿條,炒出一個新菜式-炒香魚絲 Taro Kua Gai ทาโร่คั่วไก่,Taro是一個泰國香魚絲的牌子名。

The colouring for the mini rice balls are made from natural ingredients using things like butterfly pea, carrot and pumpkin. The bowl is then topped with coconut cream which gives the dish a salty aftertaste. If you like, you can even add eggs or salted eggs, which this shop does a great job of!
