The overall ambience is pretty chic, but I’d wish for the temperatures to be lowered, so to beat the heat & humidity.
Overall, 25 Degrees is an exciting burger destination.
25 Degrees possesses an old Hollywood charm in a casual setting. High ceilings, dark interior and classy American decor.
Curious Palette cafe is kind of long so to maximize the usage of space, they have long tables in the middle. The best way to illuminate such space is to let in natural light from the ceiling.
One of the things we were curious about was their sugarloaf cabbage with seaweed butter. The flavour was outstanding.
Tomato, Tamarind Ponzu ($10.90) which is a refreshing palate-cleanser with its plump and juicy tomatoes, along with yuzu and pickled lemon to enliven the dish with a subtle citrusy, tangy flavour.
All in all, we enjoyed both cakes a lot even though they were a tad too sweet so if you’re here with your friends, get a few slices to share otherwise it can get really sickly after a while.
I did find the prices a bit exorbitant, but a percentage of their sales goes to Muhammadiyah Home Welfare.
Totally packed, even with reservations we still had to wait for a table
The space of Earlybird is cosy and spacious, which makes it an ideal space to have a leisurely brunch. The dishes are generally on point for a cafe, with no GST and service charge.
Every dish at Earlybird impressed, and it is safe to say that this is one of the best cafes to open in Singapore this year.
With addition of Earlybird, the cafe scene in the area is getting more competition.
The interior features brick walls, wood-paneled ceilings, and soft chandelier light fixtures reminisce of the castle while chairs decorated with colorful stag prints are matched with long wooden tables. Does it make you feel like you're at Hogwarts?
They provide costume and other props for you to take photo and instagram it.
When food was served, the magical experience diminished as none except the Goblet of Fire drink offers the feel. We surely hope they will add on more of the fantasy experience in the dishes too.
Overall, I like this place pretty much. If there are chances for gathering and chilling out again. I do not mind returning back here.
We thought well of Tocha Bistro, especially if you enjoy your beers. Moreover, they offer quite a handful of delicious dishes to go along with the drinks.
Tocha Bistro is the new gastropub that replaces char gril bar at Hotel Boss. The grastropub is actually located at the back of the hotel along the canal, giving diners the feel of alfresco dining alongside the river.
For coffee aficionados who adore the robust, medium-bodied blends that come from Tiong Hoe Speciality Coffee, you will be happy to know that The Wired Monkey sources their blends from them.
It could be a different yet comfortable café experience with its colour-coordinated beanbags and cushions in between, plus you could shift the sliding tables.
The Wired Monkey is a good addition to the Dunlop Street neighbourhood; yet another spot that provides for a more vibrant dining environment with a unique setting for hungry folks and cafe-hoppers alike to visit at least once.
Music was good and the ambience was really chill - we liked this place and would definitely want to be back for more of our gatherings.
Interestingly, Good Luck Beerhouse also serves dim sum on its menu. Who knows, perhaps the unlikely pairing of craft beer and dim sum would be the next IT gourmet combo.
Food takes a backseat at Lowercase. The only thing solid is their house-made ice-cream and coffee.
Lowercase is the perfect chill out, food and study spot for the students with its spacious environment, laid back vibes and of course free all-day wifi, as well as student discount entitlements on top of the already affordably priced dishes.
Their creative ice cream flavours are on a rotational basis and include strawberry basil, mango sticky rice, and Vietnamese coffee.
Overall it was ok, not bad.
The café offers insta-worthy and creative rendition dishes that keep people from going back again.
Their version of cacio e pepe is made with their Secret Pepper Mix, and Parmigiano & Pecorino Cheese. Rich flavors but the peppery flavors were more robust. I wished that more cheese was added to balance it out.
Get your pick of sweet and savoury waffles with over 18 choices available on the menu. They have croffles too! Read more.
In the end, I think hygge is not something we can buy ourselves into but rather something that we have to embrace by slowing down – switch off your phone, kickback with a book and enjoy your favorite cuppa.
Hygge has managed to create a conducive environment for people chill out, or to take a breather over a cup of coffee.
All in all, HYGGE has a long way to go in order to keep themselves relevant in the scene, especially with its location at a neighbourhood saturated with cafes.
There is now another reason to visit the under-the-radar Sunshine Plaza, be it to satisfy the craving for custard buns at Victor’s Kitchen, or to takeaway some hearty chicken pies over at Oven Marvel.
Overall, great value for great food. Don’t wait!
I love the unpretentious cafe vibe and those comfy Eames-inspired chairs that I've been eyeing on FortyTwo. And there's wifi if you need it.
Ambience at Mr Fish N Chips At Café Wok Inn is brightly lit, clean, and functional. The simple place has limited seating.
Taking over the premises of the former Espuma Lab is Mr Fish and Chips at Cafe Wok Inn, which specializes in the golden battered Fish & Chips as well as other local versions of western food like Beef Stew.
I must say, the CreatureS team is rather ingenious for capitalising on this crispy chicken rendang saga, and coming up with their very own crispy chicken rendang.
Located in a little shop house near Little India, the deco inside CreatureS was quaint and interesting.
Papasan 17 has become the family's hangout for reasonably priced delicious western fare though that is probably the only food and beverage outlet within the hotel that is spacious.
This visit made me rethink my opinions about Papasan or why I even shunned it previously, a hidden gem with affordable and tasty western options. Now, bring on the local fare!
Overall, a place that probably needs to make some improvements to their offerings (at least from what we had tried) in order to draw the crowds in.
It was a cozy little venue on the edge of Little India.
