The quality and ambience of the place is better than the competition that are selling tendons at the $12-$15 range.
The ingredients were fresh, the batter was light, and the sauce was savoury and tasty, but there was not enough of the sauce. The tempura felt and tasted slightly greasy, so it got a bit queasy towards the end. Overall, I thought the tendon here didn’t quite pack a punch.
Tenjin is another new restaurant in Shaw Centre by the Les Amis Group. This new restaurant specialises in tempura donburi or tendon for short. In case the name “Les Amis” makes you imagine dollar signs flying out of your wallet, don’t worry. The tempura rice bowls at Tenjin are quite reasonably priced.
Being an item recommended by the wait staff who had served our table, the Truffle Chawanmushi is an item not to be missed here especially so for those who love truffle and eggs.
