The Public Izakaya in 100AM is another of those places that I always walk by but never try – until now.
It's a proper izakaya menu at night, including a pretty good sashimi platter. But those gigantic baseball-sized karaage above were the biggest surprise. One of the best places to celebrate a birthday or friends gathering is at a Japanese Izakaya restaurant as they can almost satisfy any kind of food preferences Public Izakaya is located within the …
A must order, the Omakase Oden Set ($32 for 10pcs), is laden with daikon, hard-boiled egg, konnayaku, beancurd, fish cakes, minced seafood balls, and sweet potato noodles, in a pool of delicate broth.
This place also seemed to be less heavy handed with the salt. Which I suppose is sometimes a good thing. Still the hatsu skewers were enjoyable.
Public Izakaya is a great place for oden. The items are authentic with many imported directly from Japan. The place also has that vibe that makes you feel as if you are in Japan.
The dining experience at The Public Izakaya was very delightful from the start to finish, with most of the food surpassing expectations and well-executed.
