Reasons to visit 2OX French Mediterranean Restaurant Brunch: Did I mention the scrambled eggs?
To be honest, the savory tier was pretty impressive, the flavours were just right. But then again, the portion was really too small for us to be able to properly enjoy them
This New Year’s Eve menu is priced at RM180++ per person and RM260++ per person for Wine Pairing option.
We really enjoyed both the pizzas here. We recommend making reservations early to avoid disappointment. Besides pizzas and cold cuts, Heritage Pizzas also serves desserts such as affogato, sorbets and gelato.
It’s a little expensive, given both our pizzas cost RM50+ each, and 3 drinks (2 soft) added nearly another RM80. However, the quality was good
Reasons to visit Heritage Pizza, The Row KL: great setting on a pleasant restaurant strip; slow, cold ferment pizzas; affordable prices; must order the Calabrese with a ball of burrata on top.
Food was yummy. As usual with ayam percik, it comes in a large thigh piece. The meat was juicy and tender, the percik sauce was nice. I do not know if it is the real deal or if it was authentic … my friend from the east coast wasn’t around to provide me his opinion but to me, it tasted good and at that point, that was all I cared about, lol. Yummmmm. The chicken was the star of the dish, of course and made for a perfect addition to the nasi lemak. The ‘sambal’ was a good mix between spicy, sweet and with the ‘kacang’ , fried anchovies, cucumber and rice topped with an egg, this dish sure did fill us up and satisfy our nasi lemak craving.
Located at the loft of the restored Heritage Row on Jalan Doraisamy, this café offers coffee, matcha, rice bowls, and sourdough – which should satisfy any form of appetite that walk into the room.
Chili, Cilantro & Coconut Cream Mussels (RM 27) Enjoy the bowl of delicious black shell mussels which is cooked in spicy coconut cream, served with toasted Ciabatta. The mussels comes simply fresh and brings you with the robust flavours.
Lamb lovers must try the Rack of Sambal Crusted Lamb Loins @ RM34 in the tapas section. We were delighted with the generous portion and you can see that the lamb loins are given in thick juicy cuts. The accompanying sambal was great too and you can taste the dried shrimp used in it.
Reasons to visit: clean and well designed music venue, big portions of flavourful spicy pub food – western cooking with local spice, you can check out the local music talent.
Reasons to visit Sala at The Row KL: excellent plant-based vegan café in Kuala Lumpur; pleasant new setting with great views; order the Shrooms Asada Burrito!

Out of so many coffee shops, I managed to find my favorite, which is League of Captains (LOC)! Know why I loved it? They have this "BUY 2 FOR 1" promotion for the coffee on every weekday from 8-10am and 3-5pm! WHAT A GIFT! Buy 1 free 1, guys! And I'm not talking about seasonal promotion or something. It's every weekday, from Monday to Friday, rain or shine! God bless you, LOC!

Yut Kee Restaurant located in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur, is a Hainanese Kopitiam that has been operating since 1928. If you're looking for a local Malaysian breakfast or brunch spot, definitely come and try out Yut Kee Restaurant. It's classic marble table and wooden chairs decor brings us back time as it gives the old school kopitiam vibe.
Roti Babi, 11 ringgit There were several dishes that were popular here and one of them is the Roti Babi. Just by looking around, you’d be able to see this dish on almost every other table. Sure, it is loaded with calories but it was da bomb. The top and bottom of this dish is made up of french toast and on the inside, there is a generous portion of flavorful pork minced meat + caramelized onions. Yummy!
Overall, albeit some dishes in Yut Kee are not that good as expected but undoubtedly there are still some delectable dishes serving here, and I'm still looking forward to paying a visit again for their Roasted Pork Roll in the future.
The revisit to Concorde Hotel KL famous dim sum is rewarding. The quality of the food and the ambiance of the place remains the same after so many years. For the pricing of their dim sum, it is similar to some Chinese banquet restaurant price and on par or cheaper than some dim sum restaurants in other hotels in KL. In short, visiting Concorde Hotel KL famous dim sum will not disappoint you.
Chef Wong takes on a bold approach with the Steamed Soon Hock with Nyonya Sauce (RM30 per 100gm). The fish is smothered in a piquant and spicy Nyonya sauce that is redolent of spices and herbs. Although the sauce is robust and heavy in flavours, one can still taste the sweetness of the firm and tender flesh of the Soon Hock fish. The dish beckons for a bowl of steamed rice as the sauce is moreish and addictive.
Fruity Yee Sang (small): pistachio, pomelo, chia seed, wax apple (jambu air), dried cranberry, white dragon fruit, dried blueberry, jackfruit, grape, deep fried dough, mandarin orange, pomegranate, pumpkin seeds, snow pear, apple, peanut, and carrot. Tasty and refreshing! MYR 108 nett
Our top pick goes to the moist, braised-till-tender beef brisket stuffed within fluffy steamed pao. Generous cut of meat too! Summerkid personally enjoyed the Kim.Chi.Chicken. Mildly spicy, with sharp flavours of kimchi cut through in between crunchy, juicy bites of fried chicken chunks.

Happening every Sunday at Brasserie 25! Sizzling Sundays RM100 nett (one-for-one) : for 2 pax!
Reasons to visit Shang Palace KL: attractive, traditional setting; warm hospitality; fresh ingredients; delicious Peking duck.
Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur is one of the most prominent hotels in the capital city.
While prices are steep, it makes up for quality and would definitely be a well-deserved treat.
One of the must try is their Smoked Lamb Ribs (RM 98.00 nett). One can enjoy the 360g of Lamb Ribs which is beautifully smoked with the hickory wood, and then seasoned with their signature spice blend and then glazed with their house-made barbecue sauce and grilled till perfection. The meat comes awesomely delicious and tender which makes it heavenly with no gammy smell in it. And what’s more is they are sides with the seasoned fries and fresh vegetables. Yummz !
食物美味不在话下,价格乍看之下感觉好像贵了些,但看到份量的时候就觉得还好了。
One Night in Bangkok Spicy Shrimp This dish was a favorite of mine. There were medium sized prawns coated in spicy sauce with a nice amount of sesame seeds and green onions sprinkled on it. You do not need to worry about the sauce being too hot – it wasn’t. It somewhat resembled the reddish orange sauce commonly used to coat Korean Fried Chicken?? The difference here is the flavor itself. First, the mild spicyness will hit you, immediately followed by short burst of sour tanginess. I think a drizzle of lemon zest was added too. It was delicious. If it wasn’t for the others being around, I’d most probably ‘hantam’ it all by myself but since that was not the case, ‘kena jaga imej’ right? Lol.
Purple and white corn from Janda Baik are the stars of this dish. Sweet and crunchy, the corn kernels are tossed with Spanish air dried beef shards, charred local vine tomatoes, a hint of sambal aioli and garnished with Asam pedas salt for a burst of flavours.
In sum, Tapestry scores all the right points for lovely ambiance, thoughtfully melded West-meet-East menu, and brunch food that is actually enjoyable. We all enjoy a good surprise, and Tapestry is definitely one in our books – it is probably one of the best brunch places KL has to offer at the moment for something cozy and inventive at the same time.
Reasons to visit Tapestry Dining Chow Kit: local produce, modern flavours on the grill; stylish setting; there was not a dish we tried tonight that we didn’t like – if forced to narrow an order though – don’t miss the Zucchini Barramundi Otak-Otak and Sarawakian Native Job’s Tears “Risotto.”

It was a gastronomy lunch at Labyrinth where we experience the heritage, culture, and traditions of Singapore with such an innovative approach by Chef LG Han. The service is impeccable too!
Michelin starred or not, I applaud the guts of Chef Li putting modern sin cuisine on the table. It is not easy getting creative with food that we Singaporeans have known all our lives to be cheap, affordable and tasty.
Overall the meal was pleasant and I did enjoy but I’m sure there are even more interesting dishes that I’ve yet to try.
Reasons to embark on the Caribbean Food Cruise at Joloko: a chance to “travel” at least by setting sail on your tastebuds; fun, fun, fun team and setting; a culinary adventure; excellent cocktails and wine list.
I hadn’t been to a Caribbean restaurant for more than two years, and we definitely want to come back here. It is expensive, but the atmosphere and the food were really worth it. Highly recommended.
The sandwiches were delicious. You can choose your spice level – mild, normal or spicy. I opted for spicy. Part of it was the heat and the other part was pure spices, a burst of flavors. The sandwich filling was generous. The grilled pork was tender and juicy. Biting into it was divine. There was spinach, purple cabbage, purple radish, onions …. it was yummy!
