    This dish is known to us as Sam Kan Choong pork noodle (dry). I believe Sam Kan Choong is the name of a shop that specializes in this dish and we just use this likespecific shop name to refer to this dish like how we use the word Colgate when we just mean toothpaste. It costs MYR 7 nett. The flat rectangular white pork balls, minced pork and slices of big sausages are what make this Sam Kan Choong dish.

    For MYR2, I could only buy a piece of chee cheong fun (kosong) from a stall in Friendship Cafe. Back in 2014, the price is only MYR1.60 per piece. Not much nutritional value (just carb and sugar) but it does keep me full for at least 2 hours

    Visited Munching Mob a few weeks ago , The cafe is located in Esplanad . Black wall , ceiling-to-floor windows facade , completed with few backyard tables & cushioned stools . cozy ambience that Munching Mob cafe having . Munching Mob is more like a neighbourhood cafe , cozy and welcoming , very much suitable for family crowd . From comfort food like Nasi Lemak Chicken to Curry Chicken Rice, Western fares such as Fish & Chips, Chicken Chop, light sweet selections including waffle and pancakes are worth discovered . Serving up their own version of American and Asian fusion cuisine .

    Whenever I am in this area (Arked Esplanad Bukit Jalil), I would eat at Friendship Cafe (despite its name, it is just a common coffee shop with a few hawker stalls) or at On On Bak Kut Teh (another common coffee shop nearby). On this day, Friendship Cafe was closed and it was full house at On On Bak Kut Teh so we ended up in a proper cafe.

    Chicken Slice Hor Fun Curry (MYR 9.90+) and Jumbo Curry (MYR 13.50+) at Oh Ipoh Cafe, Bukit Jalil. Since it was CNY period, there was a 10% surcharge on top of the usual nett price stated on the menu. We are ok with it since we understand that most shops are closed for CNY so it is reasonable to have a surcharge to compensate staff for working during the holidays. The curry is oily but taste is acceptable.

    The Curry Chee Chong Fun is one of their popular dishes and it was a nice. The dish came with tasty, flavorful curry + noodles + pork balls + fish cake + Soy cracker + tauhu + long beans + sesame seeds. It was a simple and light dish, nothing too complicated and heavy. Perfect for lunch.

    Chicken Hor Fun Soup Special at MYR 11.50 nett and a cup of white coffee at MYR 4 nett. The chicken meat was silky smooth and tasty

    Salted egg yolk soft shell crab with fried rice at MYR 19 nett for a standard portion. The rice is fried with salted egg yolk too so it has a fragrant creamy salted egg yolk taste which I like. I also like the texture of the rice which is soft. Surprisingly, I was indifferent to the soft shell crab. The salted egg yolk fried rice is enough for me.

    The address: 21 Jalan Jalil Perkasa 14, Bukit Jalil. I have yet to try the food there because the lunch and dinner time is too late for me as I eat brunch around 10 am and dinner around 4 pm but runners may try out this cafe.

    The Lamb Shoulder comes out to be delicious. No gammy taste at all, and the meat remains moist and juicy as it is. Sides with fresh mint sauce, buttery mash and coleslaw.

    Mash & Dog Simple fare but makes a hearty one. Love the springy porky sausage that went through a decent heaty grill to be paired with the yummy mashed potatoes. Oh yeah, that humble mashed somehow managed to steak my attention cheekily with its nicely constructed rustic recipe. Unexpected right? Yeah, me too, hehe.

    Surprisingly Pop’s the carb-lover went for the Chicken V 2.0: essentially grilled chicken topped with a creamy butter herb sauce that tasted like thick cheese. Tried some and it was good! Meat was tender, juicy and moist.

    I believe many of you had heard of Top Catch Fisheries, it is very famous of its fresh and affordable sashimi. Not only sashimi, Top Catch Fisheries also sells other fresh and frozen imported seafood!

    Top Catch Fisheries is essentially a fishmonger, albeit in a clean, air-conditioned environment. When we arrived at the shop, we saw that they had no more salmon sashimi in the display counter, but the guy at the counter kindly offered to slice a new tray for us. While he sliced the fish, we looked around the shop. They have chilled salmon fillets, as well as lots of frozen seafood items on sale such as scallops, mussels, clam, cod and more. The prices seem pretty reasonable for the frozen items.

    相較之下色澤比較偏橙色的三文魚是Atlantic Salmon 大西洋鮭魚 肉質爽口，新鮮程度更是沒話說！

    There are only 2 types of course menu to choose from. The 5-Course Journey menu is priced at Rm 260++ per pax, comes with 5 dishes of different sensations and it takes about 90 mins for the whole journey. The 8-Course Journey menu is priced at Rm 380++, you will be able to enjoy the full journey with 8 dishes, including amuse bouche and petit fours. This journey takes times about 120mins.

    Reasons to visit Eat and Cook in Bukit Jalil: All dishes have their hero ingredients. On our journey, we particularly enjoyed the reimagining of assam laksa, sambal belacan, ikan bakar and kulim. All wines were standouts, but if after something particular, we recommend asking Agnel for his suggestions.
