The yummy food combined with the peaceful sound of bubbling water from the fountain nearby made our visit simply marvellous. We came at off-peak hours (2 pm) and the service was very quick with food coming out within ten to fifteen minutes. This might be different at prime lunchtime as some diners have complained about the slow service. One odd thing is that our dessert arrived before our mains, so it might be a good idea to make a separate order for your post-meal cendol. We unfortunately don’t have much reason to be in the Bandar Sri Damansara area again, but our experience here today means we’ll probably be eating at one of Kakatoo’s other locations in the future.

Tomyam Vermicelli, 22 ringgit. This was delicious. Flavorful, spicy in a way that only a Tomyum can pull, the kind that eventually leads your nose to start running. Oooo and the forehead sweating, lol. Yup, it would not be tomyum is it does not work you up that way. The bowl comes with plenty of tomyum soup and noodles + prawns, calamari, mussels, mushrooms. It is a pretty big portion though, so do keep an empty stomach if you intend to indulge. Yuumm!

This is how their Thali set looks like and for 20 ringgit – I think it really is worth it. The set come with an option of 3 type of rice – white, parboiled and briyani, of which I opted for the latter, briyani. The rice itself was delicious, soft and moist, accompanied with cashew nuts and raisins. Then, you’d get 6 side dishes – 3 vegetables (spinach, potatoes, bittergourd), 2 gravies (sambar, sothi) and 1 portion of onion with yogurt. That is not all. Also on the plate is a cup of rasam and payasam yawwwww! + papadam. Okay, and then of a separate bowl is the chicken sambal with 1 huge, meaty chicken drumstick and green peas for garnish. It literally was like a mini food heaven – you’d get everything from starter, to main meal, to side dish and dessert. It tasted yummy. I would not change a thing except maybe for free flow of payasam? lol.
