We initially plan to spent half of the day and take a short trek to Chiling waterfalls but we are not able to due to heavy rain.
Overall, a nice place to go at least once. Do note, there is 6 or 7 river crossing, and the last few and the deepest one, reaching butt or waist (if you are shorter)
Are you afraid of fish? If yes, you may need to think twice before going on this trip because you'll need to go through this in each crossing and there's no way you can avoid them... Can you see those fishes?
Bukit Kutu, used to be known as Treacher’s Hill, is one of the most popular hiking spots in Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor. Not to be fooled by its name as a ‘Bukit’, its height and distance often catch new hikers off guard, thinking it’s ‘just a hill’. Due to its somewhat lengthy journey (around 6 km+ and 3-4 hours to peak) and constant uphill climb, Bukit Kutu is often the preliminary training ground for hikers before taking on Mount Nuang.
Kampong Buloh Tel...
Will I hike Bukit Kutu again? 95% no. Was it a fun hike? YES. Should you hike Bukit Kutu? YES Did I get any leech bites? Surprisingly, no :O But one of my friend has got multiple bites, so it depends on your luck I guess!

Rating Easy. Pros A scenic hike and lots packed into a relatively small area at the waterfall.
Kuala Kubu Bharu is undoubtedly well known for its outdoor activities. Just at the KKB Waterfalls entrance itself, shares the starting point to many popular hiking spots such as Bukit Kutu, Gunung Rajah, Lata Makau, and of course, Lata Medang (these trails require permits to be applied in advance).
Rating Moderate. Trail is long but mostly flat. The few slopes that you do have to overcome arrive after the Makau-Medang fork and have an incline of no more than 45 degrees.
Bukit Batu Pahat is a popular hiking spot in Kuala Kubu Bharu that currently does not require a permit or charging any fee. At the height of 426 meters above sea level, it is not just a place for hikers, but also a takeoff point for paragliders.
located at KKB Wind Valley, 44000 Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor. This campsite is perfect for family, couples and even solo campers. They also offers campsite for camper van owners.
With the surge in local tourism after lock-downs arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, local towns have been spruced themselves up to attract the tourists. Some, colorful murals have popped up at the KKB, at the older part of town still looking colonial with it's few streets of colonial shop-houses.
LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT at the peak of Bukit Batu Belah (295M) & Bukit Batu Pahat (426M) Looking for a trail to workout and to build endurance? Head to Bukit Batu Pahat & Bukit Batu Belah in Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor ~ about an hour drive from the Kuala Lumpur City Centre of Malaysia .

Before our afternoon tea time at Kebun Cafe, we visited one of the main attractions at Ulu Yam, which is World of Phalaenopsis. Built on a 6-acre agricultural land, World of Phalaenopsis as its name implies, is a nursery specialises in moth orchids.
If it’s the latter, then I suggest a day trip to Ulu Yam, where you’ll find World of Phalaenopsis, a plant nursery that specialises in phalaenopsis (or moth orchids, because phalaenopsis is a mouthful. lol). Tucked within a quiet kampung, about an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur, the nursery is home to thousands of orchids as well as a myriad of other plants — and it even has its own hipster-esque cafe called Florescence.
So after a brief stroll around the beautiful orchid farm of World Of Phalaenopsis, we quickly headed to the café for a speedy nosh.
Bukit Kutu also known as Treacher Hill is where adventure meets serenity in the heart of nature!
Rating Moderate. It’s long but not hard.
♥Verdict: Overall, it was a pleasant stay at Hoho Farmstay which is ideal for a quick getaway not too far from KL with family or big group of friends. Location wise, Ulu Yam town is merely a few minutes drive and there are convenient stores such as 99 Speedmart and KK Mart to get whatever you need. The nearest restaurant (steamboat) is located at the entrance of that residential area.
Rating Easy. Trek is mostly along a flat laterite road with some trekking and river bashing towards the end of the hike. Total elevation gain is 110 to 140 metres.
🌟 TRAIL INFO Elevation Gain : 120M Difficulty Level : Easy Distance : 6km (return) Permit : Not required for now Trailhead via Jalan Antara Gapi - Ulu Yam : 3.422528, 101.646611
We were there for Batu Bertenggek Waterfall, a thunderous vertical drop that is often mistaken for Chiling Waterfall in nearby Kuala Kubu Baru. What sets Batu Bertenggek apart is the jagged gravity-defying slab of rock that sits lopsidedly at its base. It’s what the falls is name after; “Bertenggek”, a Malay word, means “perched” in English.
Bukit Chorocho in Kuala Kubu Bharu may not be as popular as the nearby Bukit Kutu, Gunung Gap & Ulu Semangkok, or Fraser’s Hill Pine Tree Trail, but it is a nice hiking trail to try. It takes around 2 hours to reach the peak of Bukit Chorocho, and another 2 hours or less for the return trip.
This is one of the rare peaks using the same trailhead as Bukit Kutu as well as Gunung Rajah and Bukit Hulu Telang or Bukit Hulu Bakau.
