The signature 2+1 coffee and sandwich were good. We're kind of early (7am) where most of the stalls here were not opened yet. I wanted to try the fried kuey teow, maybe next time, if I will be here again.

Coffee and bread are not bad, wantan noodles are average (or not my type).

And my verdict? I would recommend giving it a try if you happen to be in Bentong. Who knows, you might find the taste more appealing to you than it was to me. By the way, Kopitiam Thong Kee also has a branch in KL – you might wanna try its branch rather than travel all the way to Bentong.

Lemang To’ki’s version is fragrant with coconut milk and the taste is good. This is highly recommended and we never had such a tasty lemang for a very long time.

Authentic Indian banana leaf food and famous fish head curry

This Fish Head Curry was not the pre-cooked stuff. It was actually made to order and that being the case, you would need to wait for a while. When it was served, it was served piping hot and with burners beneath. The aroma was absolutely fantastic and it tasted so good. The curry was prepared according to the South Indian style and not the Indian Muslim way. What can I say about this Fish Head Curry, it was truly one of the best that I had tasted. Truly way better than the ones that we get in Kuala Lumpur. In fact, this preparation is hard to find in Kuala Lumpur since most of the Fish Head Curry places are dominated by the Indian Muslims. In short, it was heavenly and my rating for this shall be 10/10.

Verdict: Our steamboat meal was decent, portion and price was nothing much different with what we usually had at our area (Kepong). The cooling weather certainly a bonus especially for steamboat but it this enough to convince me for revisit?

Found this restaurant in Bentong. It's really worth it with the price and the food served.

We came over here for lunch since it was recommended that they served good food with reasonable price. The place were filled with locals during lunch time. We seen to be the weirdest because both of us are holding cameras when walking in (obvious we are not local!).

Verdict: As I’ve mentioned, if you come here for the food, you might be up for some disappointments (the food I tried was just average, but there are many “not-so-good” online reviews regarding their food and service). It’s more like a little escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life, sit down, relax and enjoy a lunch/tea break on a sun-drenched wide open space with greenery surroundings.

A big pot of Tom Yam Kung arrives at our table filled with a generous portion of seafood of big juicy prawns, squid, chicken and meatballs. Together with all these yummy ingredients, there were oyster mushrooms, scallion and loads of fresh herb of lime leaves, lemongrass and galangal, all combine to create a delicious broth to excite our taste buds that night.

Our first stopover is in Bentong town for breakfast. My food trail has brought me to this typical corner coffee shop called Yuen Kee Kopitiam for its most talked about famous Bentong's Hooi Kee Wan Tan Mee and Yong Tau Foo stall, located right next to the wan tan noodles stall. It's just a walking distance from the Bentong's morning market and easy to spot as the corner shop without a signboard.
