The giant udang galah (freshwater prawns)…that we also had on her birthday and I loved it so so much, a lot more than the lobster that we had that night and lining the side of the platter were these birthday eggs…served with some very nice special sauce.

We enjoyed all the dishes but it was the pla tod samoon prai (RM82.00)… Flavours pla tod samoon prai 1 …that stole the show. We got a huge one, the barramundi, and that never failed to satisfy us each and everytime we had that – this time, of course, was no exception…and as always, we swept everything clean even the garnishing, all that used for the decoration and presentation of the dish.

The som tam or papaya salad (RM15.50)… Flavours Thai Kitchen som tam …was exceptionally nice that night. Mary asked us if we wanted to try the Bangkok style which she said would be a little bit sweeter than the usual and of course, we did not mind it one bit and yes, it was very much to our liking.

That day, I also enjoyed the pla sa moon prai, their deep fried barramundi, filleted (RM78.00)……that my good friend, Robert, would always order everytime so I also asked for that for all of us to enjoy and yes, we all loved it, right down to the stuff used in its garnishing and presentation.

There was also this omelette…which was nice but really, that was the first time I had seen an omelette that thick and it was a wonder that they did manage to get it perfectly cooked inside.

We asked for the green curry instead and we requested for beef (RM37.50)…instead of chicken. I think there was santan (coconut milk) in the thick gravy in this one and a bit too much of it... At best, I would say it was all right, different but between the one here and our favourite at Payung…the latter gets our vote.

I ordered the miang kam (RM19.90)…something he had not tried before and yes, he loved it!
