To Kyoto: without Japan Rail (JR) Pass
JR Haruko to Kyoto (73 min, ¥2,980 non-reserved seat, ¥3500 reserved seat), departure every 30 minutes
Overseas Tourists can buy a 1 day JR West Kansai pass (2000 yen), buy at ticket office at JR Kansai Airport Railway Station
* Buy ICOCA & HARUKA Pass: 3000 yen (one-way) include travel on JR Haruka + 2000 yen ICOCA smart card money (500 yen is refundable deposit, can be used for JR West network of trains and also on subways, private railways and buses in the Kansai area and in other places.
Kansai Thru Pass (Surutto Kansai)
Ride on subways, private railways and buses throughout the Kansai district (Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto). Can reach Nara, Wakayama and Koyasan (city transport not covered).
2day ticket: 3800 yen, 3day ticket: 5000 yen (One day is counted as the duration from the first train to the last train in a day. Not 24 hours from the time when you purchase it.)
Excluding JR lines
It can be used from Kansai Airport Station on the Nankai Train after arriving at Kansai International Airport (The Express Rapid requires additional tariff).
Valid for foreign tourist visiting Japan or A Japanese national living abroad
Where to buy: Kansai International Airport KAA Travel Desk (1st Floor / 07:00 – 22:00), Kyoto Station Bus Information Center (Kyoto Station Karasuma Exit / 07:30 – 20:00), Osaka Visitors' Information Center – Namba (Inside the General Information Center Namba on the 1F of Nankai Building / 09:00 – 20:00), etc.
Data Sim Card at Kansai Airport. A 30 days 3GB sim card can range from 4000 yen to 9000 yen. I pickup at TRE (3GB 30 days) at JAL counter for 4500 yen. Saw another similar package selling for 4000 yen at the vending machine.
PS: Cheaper options are available in town, selling at places like BIC Camera.
